GM - Technology - Outsourcing - Tyres

We are looking for a GM Technology - Outsourcing to be based at Mumbai, for a very reputed and Leading Tyre Manufacturer.

This position would require to provide technical direction for the development, process design, and systems integration from inception phase to implementation of Tyre, tube and flap manufacturing process in Outsourcing units.

Key Responsibilities:

PROCESS & PRODUCT :

- Responsible for all the Technological activities at Outsourcing units.

- Product performance

- Product quality improvement

- Process developmental activities

- System implementation, monitoring and control.

- New Product Developments and OE sample approvals

TECHNICAL ECONOMY:

- Product specification optimization

CLAIMS & LOSSES:

- Monitor products in order to bring in continuous improvement, and keep claims and losses to a minimum

SELECTION OF RAW MATERIAL SOURCES:

- Develop new sources for existing raw material

TECHNICAL & QUALITY TASKS:

- Provide technical know-how and inputs to Outsourcing units.

- Conduct periodic audit in the units and ensure compliance of specifications, systems and practices to that of Company's requirements and guidelines.

- Identify quality improvement (QIP) programs and drive them to closer to get desired results.

- Conduct field visits to monitor performance and customer feedback.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

- Advanced Proficiency in Tyre Manufacturing Technology - Technical know-how & ability in Tyre designs, production processes, systems, layout plans and quality measure

- Advanced Proficiency in Plant systems & processes - Ability to understand & implement 5S, safety practices, production best practices, QBM and other contemporary systems & process

- Business Focus - Know-how on organisation mission ,Code of conduct, product SKUs, accountabilities w.r.t market scenario & competition & ability to apply in one's role

- Customer Orientation - Cultural orientation to engage with customers, proactively assess their needs and continuously create value for them

- Data Interpretation Ability - Ability to study & interpret data/trends and draw inferences/projections

The ideal candidate would be a B.E. Mechanical / Chemical / B.Tech ( Rubber Technology) / Post Graduation in Science and with relevant experience in the Tyre Industry. ISO-Deming Expertise would be desirable.
