Job Description: GM - Sales & Marketing (Coastal Shipping)

Client :

Our Client is an integrated logistics multinational, headquartered in India.

Reports to : COO, Shipping Division

Role :

Formulate and implement the business development strategy of the Shipping vertical: strategy content and execution shall be consistent with business initiatives and objectives stipulated by the Sr. Management

Key Areas :

- Establishing short / long term budgets in tune with corporate strategies for achieving business targets. (Strategic Planning & Management)

- Formulating business plans; forecasting & analysing revenue potential in business opportunities for Costal Shipping. (Profit Centre Operations)

- Analysing & reviewing the market response / requirements and communicating the same to the sales teams for accomplishment of the business goals. (Business Development)

- Overseeing marketing operations, thereby achieving increased business growth. (Marketing)

- Developing more corporate client base to promote and explain the concept. (Product Management)

- Maintaining contacts with feeder operators, vendors, etc. for improved service level. Identifying streams for generating revenues & developing marketing plans to build consumer preference. (Sales Promotion)

- Conducting competitor analysis by keeping abreast of market trends & achieving market share metrics. Networking with financially strong & reliable dealers / distributors for deeper market penetration & improved market share. (Channel Management and Relationship Management)

- Recruiting, leading, mentoring & monitoring the team members to ensure efficiency in process operations and meeting of individual & group targets. (Liaising & Coordination and Team Management)

Job Involves The Following Linkages :

Within the Organisation: All branches of the Organization.

Outside the Organisation (if any) : Customers, Vendors, Clients and suppliers.

Qualification & Experience :

- BE / Graduation with 15 years of experience in Shipping / Freight Forwarding or Logistics
