GM - Operations - Auto Ancillary (20-30 yrs)

Company Profile: Our client is a very large auto ancillaries organisation (headcount exceeds 4000# and having multple plant locations spread throughout India) - amongst the largest & most prestigious organizations in India. The organisation is expanding rapidly and also setting up a number of new projects and plants all over the counrty. They have a number of prestigious automobile organisations as their captive clients. Our clients offer excellent salary and career growth opportunities. Currently the position is based in Pune but candidates are expected to be locationally mobile anywhere in the country. The position reports to the CEO.

The position is expected to be closed by end-November.

We have the following vacancy:

GM-Operations: Will be the SBU head, have P&L responsibilities and be responsible for overall performance of the manufacturing plants. Will provide necessary guidance and direction so that all resources (including material, men, money and machines) work together optimally in order to meet and exceed the business targets of the organisation. The Plant Heads would report into the position

KRAs:

- To formulate and review operational strategies to meet business requirements in terms of Volume, Quality & Cost for the Plants in compliance with the Business Plans

- To create a roadmap with time-bound milestones for achieving production excellence at the plants.

- To maintain relations with the unions and other relevant local authorities for smooth functioning of the units and ensure fulfillment of statutory guidelines (including EHS).

- To provide the necessary guidance and inputs to facilitate the development of the next level of managers in the Plants.

- To ensure alignment and clarity to the individual departments with respect to their own plans.

- To maintain customer interface not just for relationship but also for improving share of business, competition analysis, customer business trend.

- To build & facilitate innovation mindset for enhancing productivity at the plants.

- To maintain optimum Inventory levels.

- To focus on Vendor rating from customer focusing on COST, QUALITY & DELIVERY.

- To focus on Automation Project, Energy saving project in the plants.

- To plan for allocation of resources across the operations in accordance with priorities and needs of customer delivery and ensure optimum utilization of capacities.

- To identify constraints in the value chain and take necessary measures to remove them.

- To take ownership of enabling functions - HR & Admin, Purchase, Finance.

- To ensure implementation of Quality systems, TPM etc to improve PQCDMS.

Candidate Profile: Engineers (Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Metallurgical) aged 45-50 with 20-30 years experience in automobile industry of which recent years must be in auto-ancillary organisations. Must be currently handling Leadership position and P&L responsibilities in one or more plants in an auto-ancillary / automobile organisation.
