Purpose and Summary :

- The Source to Contract (STC) Global Process Specialist is a new role reporting to the Global Process Manager, Source to Contract (STC). This position is designed to deliver operational excellence in the key areas of Source to Contract and related processes. The successful candidate will also drive a continuous program of change for the sustainable improvement of these processes. This is a Global role and will have significant influence across the entire STC organization and its stakeholders. The position plays an active role within the organization Strategic Sourcing & Procurement function.

- The Source to Contract Global Process Specialist is accountable to design effective global sourcing process standardization through implementation of a global process catalog that is informed by best practices in the industry, robust understanding of systems capabilities needed to drive towards a common standard, and significance of policy/procedures that drive compliance and control.


- In the delivery of its core processes Source to Contract seeks to ensure: the quality of the process for key aspects of Sourcing, Procurement and Finance; the design, implementation and measurement of a number of the integrated processes; the design and delivery of a fit for purpose control framework, including a significant number of key controls; and to develop and provide business insights through advanced data and process analytics. Core focus would be to lead the STC function to a top quartile (effectiveness and efficiency) performance.

- Focus areas for Source to Contract Global Process Specialist would include Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Contract lifecycle management, other sub process would include Demand optimization, Supplier negotiation, Contract & spend analytics, Savings tracking, Market Intelligence, Compliance & Risk, Benchmarking and Supplier relationship management.

Principal Accountabilities :

Key accountabilities for Global Process Specialist would include :


- Global process design, Process delivery model in terms of optimal placement


- Ensure availability and compliance of policies & controls,


- Define effective performance metrics,


- Understand technology needs and strategy to implement in partnership with Global IT and business owners,


- Define & maintain data standards and drive continuous improvement around above areas.

55% Delivery of Key Source to Contract (STC) Initiatives :

- In the context of a large scale, diversified, global business that has grown organically and through acquisitions with disparate systems and processes, the STC Global Process Specialist is accountable for the design and deployment of standard global processes, policies and controls to ensure process performance meets or exceeds agreement service levels. These outputs are the primary building blocks that allow to effectively manage its Source to Contract processes in the most optimal way (maximizing benefit, minimizing risk) for each enterprise and the corporation as a whole.

- The STC processes will include but not limited to strategic sourcing of indirect spend, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Contract lifecycle management, within this other sub process would include Demand optimization, Supplier negotiation, Contract & spend analytics, Savings tracking, Market Intelligence, Compliance & Risk, Benchmarking and Supplier relationship management. Team is responsible for managing over 9 billion in spend.

- The STC Global Process Specialist would also work on increased adoption of technology across strategic sourcing through increased eSourcing by usage of eRFX, Reverse auctions optimization

- The STC Global Process Specialist would ensure smooth integration of upstream demand management and downstream operationalization of contracts with operational procurement teams

- The STC Global Process Specialist would be responsible for deployment of Business intelligence tools and Robotics for the function

- The STC Global Process Specialist will work closely with the support functions including Procurement, Accounting & Finance, Treasury, Tax & Customs and Global IT organizations to define the End-to-end and - To Be- scope of the Source to Contract processes

- The STC Global Process Specialist will establish performance, process, cost, time and quality metrics based on external benchmarks and develop a plan on how current processed need to change so that STC processes deliver top quartile results for Source to Contract processes

- The STC Global Process Specialist will ensure that the process design and application is suitable to meet both short term and long term expectations of key stakeholders.

- The STC Global Process Specialist will support internal control design, facilitate audit readiness, management of risk, knowledge management, performance and target setting.

20% Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) of the End to End Process :

- Act as the primary liaison between the Global Category Leaders, CBS Continuous Improvement teams, Global process owners and Global Operations leaders to review CI projects portfolio and ensure that they are in alignment with the Global process design for STC processes, controls and procedures.

- Drive innovation in the process by looking at opportunities for Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to improve the efficiency of the End-to-end process

- Lead the CI initiatives that are global in nature (spanning more than one CSSP region or more than one CBS center) by providing strategic direction, implementation of readiness assessment for continuous process improvement and change management with internal and external stakeholders/partners

- The role looks to continually drive efficiency and will own the CI pipeline as well as supporting the data agenda. He or she will work with IT/Systems experts to make the most of existing tools and influence the capability of next generation tools.

15% Subject Matter Expert (SME) Support and STC Process Documentation :

- This role will be actively involved in documenting STC processes for their assigned areas of L4 processes, utilizing the defined methodologies and in adherence to the documentation governance policy.

- The role will be a focal point (SME) for STC operational teams to provide guidance and expertise in the operation of STC processes.

- Ensure process designs take into consideration the upstream and downstream impacts to partners, stakeholders and other major process areas.

- Ensure adherence to legal and company standards.

10% Relationship Management and Skill/Capability Building :

- Management of key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. COE leader, Regional category & sourcing leaders, associated process GPMs and Operations Leaders).

- Influence key stakeholders through effective and compelling communication to understand the value of process changes in STC, be involved in the Stakeholder Engagement meetings with Category Leaders, Global Operations Leaders, CBS Center leaders.

- This role will be a key thought leader in developing STC process competency and analytics skills across CSSP and within CBS ensuring that the team has the right mix of skills required to deliver high quality outputs.

- The STC Process Specialist will be leveraged as a Subject Matter Expert in the development and roll out of learning & development programs that support and stretch the team in delivering their duties

Minimum Required Qualifications - 

- Approximately 10 years of experience working in a large scale global organization with world class sourcing & procurement practices

- Strong and extensive category management & strategic sourcing experience

- Bachelor's degree or similar qualification required, concentration in Supply Chain (strong preference for Strategic Sourcing)

Examples include :

- Strong strategic sourcing process experience which includes RFP development, proposal evaluation, contract negotiations, and supplier development

- Enterprise Resource Planning, Process design & Business Process Management experience

- Extensive experience in deployment of enabling Technology solutions including tools for sourcing, contracting, procurement, analytics etc

- Fostered strategic relationships in designated spend categories to drive supplier performance and deliver contractual objectives

- Led a cross-functional international team of internal colleagues and external consultant team members in the review, redesign, and deployment of standardized sourcing and purchasing processes across the organization

- Leverage a market perspective to quickly assimilate external information (e.g., market drivers, macroeconomic conditions, etc.) to anticipate its impact across the relevant business lines to develop associated strategies to maximize the opportunities.

- Knowledge of metrics and KPIs and process diagnostics

- Strong project management or operating rigor are essential for this role given the strong focus on process

- Experience in global matrix organization, and experience working in different geographical areas and across enterprise-wide functions

- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization delivering recommendations in a persuasive and thoughtful manner

- Passion for driving continuous improvement with clear evidence of same in professional or business background

- Process Re-engineering or Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma experience.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required given diverse nature of operating landscape

Preferred Qualifications - 

- Master of Business Administration is preferred.

- Experience in process design and implementation of a procurement software package, SAP, Ariba etc.

- Experience in transformational projects, preferably the transformation of procurement and the implementation of a shared service network, preferred
