The position is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring all direct and indirect tax related activities for the group Key Accountabilities : a. Ensure direct/indirect tax monitoring and compliance of all group entities across 20+ geographies, in coordination with the other functions (finance, legal, controllership, treasury etc.) b. Perform efficient effective tax (ETR)/cash tax forecasting and tax/accounting reporting, in coordination with Group consolidation/Group Treasury teams c. Identify and implement tax opportunities d. Manage tax aspects of Global M&A and corporate legal reorganizations e. Structure tax aspects of commercial deals with clients, suppliers and partners f. Ensure tax compliance in connection with transfer pricing policies and documentation g. Manage tax risks h. Manage tax audits and tax litigations, including the briefing Counsels/Senior Counsels i. Anticipate effects of tax reforms across geographies where the Group has a presence j. Robust tax advocacy in India k. Manage the tax work/structure cross border mobility of personnel l. Update all stakeholders on developments on the tax front m. Identify and structure cross border mobility of funds n. Identify and negotiate incentive claims with Governments/ Authorities o. Overseeing day to day international tax planning, management and compliance opportunities and guidance for entities across geographies. Ensuring effective & timely international tax management across all global entities p. Advising business teams on a wide range of corporate and international tax issues q. Applying international tax, accounting & business knowledge to continually identify innovative enhancements to tax planning, transfer pricing and tax compliance approaches r. Ensuring all entities comply with all relevant international and local tax laws and regulations s. Providing guidance on financial structuring and other decisions which have tax implications. Assess tax implications of investments including acquisitions and expansions t. Collaborating and engaging with internal teams and external advisers for facilitation of effective tax coordination for integration of newly acquired legal entities u. Reviewing tax provision computations including effective tax rates, deferred taxes, current taxes, tax payable reconciliations, equity reconciliations and uncertain tax positions v. Evaluating activities, policies, practices, and transactions to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations w. Advising internal teams regarding tax matters and the potential impact of laws and regulations on the operations of the organization x. Handling all matters related statutory compliances, tax audits, tax assessments and various statutory returns. Ensuring timely action is taken on appeals, and pursuing effective resolution y. Dealing with matters on tax litigation with government. z. Liaoning with government authorities and tax consultants to facilitate operations by smooth tax management aa. Driving compliance in India and overseas bb. Understanding and advising tax structures in M&A Desired Profile : - CA with 20 years+ of post qualification experience in direct and indirect taxation in Big 4 and also in FMCG & Manufacturing Industries - Experience in managing tax and compliance requirements across global entities. - Experience in financial (tax related) structuring for acquisitions and expansions globally - Deep understanding of tax accounting principles under IFRS/ INAD-AS Personal Characteristics : - Ability to manage and collaborate with global, diverse teams across Business Units - High on Drive and Initiative.
