Key Responsibilities:  1. Responsibilities will include the management and development of Tools/Techniques and Algorithms aimed at devising better Site Selection and Network Optimization Strategies; areas of work include: Operations Research, Statistics and IT Application Development  2. Design and develop OR Model and Algorithm to solve optimization problems in area of supply chain and logistic industry.   3. Work directly with client to understand business requirements of the organization, develop specification requirements, and manage development of the Logistics Planning tool.  4. To drive enhancements in Transportation Design Tools (Routing Optimization Tool, Strategic Site Selection Tool, Quick hit consolidation opportunity identification Tool etc.) and Warehouse Management Tools (Dock Scheduling, Shuttle Analysis etc.) and automation and other enhancements.  5. Determine underlying issues, solution alternatives, and calculate benefits to the integrated supply chain. Develop innovative solutions leveraging internal tools, knowledge, and international expertise.   Skills / Abilities:  1. Proficient in handling large Data Sets Using Excel (Required), Access (Required) & Statistical Applications(Required)  2. Knowledge in the working of Transportation and logistics Industry. Should have 6 - 8 yrs experience in building logistics planning tools. (Required)  3. Knowledge of Linear Programming, Travelling Salesman Problem, Vehicle Routing Algorithm, Mixed Integer Programming, Tabu Search Algorithm etc. and should have built transportation tools using the above OR techniques. (Required)  4. Should have led a team of Operation Research Specialist and Application developer's (10-12) people for more than 5 years. (Required)  5. In depth working knowledge of statistics (Required) and must be able to be guide the team members on building statistical models using SAS and R. (Preferred)  6. Should possess overall outline of Application development software such as .Net, C#, Java, Visual Basic, C/C++ and other similar tools.
