Designation : General Manager - SCM Operations Reporting : CSCO Location: Mumbai Broad objective of the role - - The Operations Head is responsible for leading the team that manages the day-to-day operations of SCM function. This includes running all transactional activities associated with sourcing and procurement, and overseeing the functioning of Master Data Management, Purchasing Operations, Sourcing Operations, Global EXIM teams. He/ She is responsible for annual planning and budgeting for the Operations function. - He/She is responsible for maintaining and updating various data systems such as vendor management, PO management. He/She is responsible for undertaking initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness of the operations function through technology enablement, process improvement etc. He/She is responsible for adhering to all procedural guidelines and ensuring operational compliance. - He/ She maintains a close working relationship with all business functions, SCM Sourcing, SCM Enablers and SCM Logistics to ensure cross-functional collaboration and efficient operations within the function. He/ She is responsible to manage, coach and train the team and provide on-going career development guidance to the team members. - He/ She is accountable for compliance to the guidelines and rules, both internal and external (tax laws, legal/ regulatory laws), and accountable for any artefacts/ processes needed for the same. Total team size (incl direct reports) 25-30 Other size parameters ~$ 225 Mn - 250 Mn of annual spend Minimum qualification &amp; experience - Bachelor's degree a minimum requirement, advanced degrees (Masters, MBA) preferred - Experience in leading operations in telecom/ technology industry and having an overall experience of 12+ years in operations - Experience in managing operations in a shared service model - Led transactional P2P activities such as PO management, supplier management - Well versed with technology in the operations environment - People management, organizational effectiveness, project and change management - Knowledge of supply chain regulation and compliance - Previous experience in leading and managing large teams - Demonstrated ability to establish close business relationships with internal / external stakeholders - Experience in setting up shared service center - Experience in leading operations transformation projects - Experience in dealing with consultants Areas Of Responsibility (Key Activities) Strategy development and planning - Define performance objectives and targets for Operations function that are aligned with overall SCM objectives - Adhere to the departmental budget set out by the management team - Develop and implement Purchase to Pay (P2P) initiatives to reduce transactions, consolidate volume and create efficiencies - Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the function and monitor the implementation - Operate within the limits of authority as defined by the Delegation of Power (DoP) - Identify and define process improvement initiatives within SSC to drive efficieny - Partner with IT team to maximize automation of transactional activities through technology enablement Team Management - Manage and direct day-to-day activities of direct reports, to ensure timely procurement as per business requirements - Provide on-going career development, support and coaching for direct reports - Provide feedback to team, and identify need based training requirements for direct reports - Solicit ideas and foster an environment for personnel development of the team Operational Improvement '- Oversee all transactional procurement activities and processes undertaken by Purchasing Ops, Master Data Management, Global EXIM and Sourcing Ops team - Drive continuous improvement to operations by reducing turnaround times, streamlining work processes and providing quality customer service to Business Units - Increase efficiency (e.g., reducing TAT) through standardization of transactional activities like PO creation, MDM, query resolution, etc. - Oversee ongoing improvement to, and development of, Supply Chain Management's IT systems, to automate Purchase to Pay processes, and streamline online approval steps - Oversee payment processes with Finance, and ensure a speedy response to queries raised internally or externally regarding the process - Oversee daily reporting on PR/ PO status, and work closely with the SCM Sourcing team to close out open PO- s, and expedite overdue PR- s - Manage setup and creation of catalogs for direct purchase, vendor master data and material master data - Support Sourcing function in onboarding of suppliers/vendors, event management, contract database management and managing post contracting vendor queries
