General Manager/Senior General Manager - Plant Management - Machine Shop & Engineering Products

We are currently looking for a General Manager/ Sr GM-Manufacturing for one of the top Engineering cos in India. The position is to be based at their Manufacturing plant in Aurangabad.

- Our client is one of the top Engineering cos in India and is the largest and most reputed manufacturer of Electrical Steel Laminations, Motor Cores, Sub-Assemblies, Die-Cast Rotors, and Press Tools. They have diversified into manufacturing of Castings, Steel Fabricated Parts and machined components stator and rotor assemblies with plans of diversifying into forgings.

Job Profile:

- Heading machine shop operations including planning, production, quality, development and maintenance.

- Profit centre head - Responsible for profit and loss

- Leading the production and quality team, which houses sophisticated CNC & Conventional machines to achieve productivity, quality, delivery and cost targets.

- Leading the new product development team to develop new products meeting design for manufacturing, lead time, process capability and cost targets.

- Production planning and execution to meet delivery schedules and resource planning.

- Planning for outsourcing of parts if there is a capacity constraint in-house.

- Review and Approval of quality documents like SOP, process flow, control plan and FMEAs.

- Planning, evaluation, selection and procurement of new equipment and machinery.

- Selection of cutting tools

- Design and manufacture of jigs, fixtures and gauges.

- Continuous improvement by cycle time reduction, set-up time reduction and operation simplification.

- Evaluation and selection of suppliers.

- Trouble shooting and maintenance of machines.

- Monitoring expenses with optimal resource utilization and planning effective manpower deployment along with work scheduling of qualified workforce; addressing training needs of staff to enhance productivity.

- Administering Technical Reviews and Reports and attending to employee & customer grievances and providing guidance to team members, motivating team and arranging required trainings for consistent improvisation on organizations performance.

- Complying with and adhering documentation guidelines and ISO standards for Manufacturing & Maintenance.

- Assessing and developing policies to streamline processes and strengthened the management for smooth, safe and reliable plant operation of the plant.

- Dealing independently with overall functions of O&M, HR, Admin, Finance & Accounts, P&L, Materials, EHS, Civil, aggressive top line enhancing measures and controlling middle line activity.

Qualification, Experience & Key Skills : 

- Should have BE/B Tech, M Tech with minimum 20 years of experience in the Manufacturing,Production and Machine Shop.

- People Management skills

Salary & Perks: Rs.30.0-35.0 Lpa
