Position : General Manager- Sales

Client : Leading Edible Oil Company

Reporting - VP- Sales

Position Overview :

As the General Manager - Sales for South your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute the sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets in the South Indian region. You will lead a team of sales professionals and work closely with other departments to ensure effective coordination and alignment with company objectives. Your role will involve market analysis, relationship management, team leadership, and driving sales performance.

Key Responsibilities -

1. Sales Strategy and Planning:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for South India, aligned with the company's overall sales objectives.

- Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, consumer trends, and competitive landscape in the region.

- Set sales targets, revenue goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the region.

2. Sales Team Leadership:

- Manage and lead a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets.

- Define sales territories, assign sales quotas, and ensure effective territory management.

- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales team.

3. Customer Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners in the South Indian market.

- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to understand customer needs, develop tailored solutions, and enhance customer satisfaction.

- Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and negotiations to strengthen partnerships and maximize sales opportunities.

4. Sales Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

- Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and insights to senior management.

- Identify sales trends, market dynamics, and potential risks to develop proactive strategies for continuous sales growth.

- Implement sales effectiveness initiatives, track key metrics, and implement corrective actions when necessary.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, operations, finance, and supply chain to ensure seamless execution of sales plans and strategies.

- Provide input on product development, pricing, and promotional activities based on market feedback and customer insights.

- Participate in leadership meetings, contribute to strategic decision-making, and provide recommendations to drive business growth.

Qualifications and Requirements -

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

- Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the FMCG industry, with a focus on the South Indian market.

- Strong understanding of the FMCG sector, market dynamics, and consumer behavior in South India.

- Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.

- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.

- Proactive, result-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

- Willingness to travel frequently within the South Indian region.
