General Manager Sales



We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager Sales to lead our sales division, drive strategic growth, and ensure the achievement of revenue goals. This is a senior leadership position that involves both strategic oversight and hands-on executiondivided across sales operations, client engagement, revenue generation, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, deep market knowledge, and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams while maximizing business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


1. Sales Strategy Development


- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the companys vision and goals.


- Set sales targets, KPIs, and revenue objectives across regions and product lines.


- Define sales territories, segmentation plans, and go-to-market strategies.


- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies proactively.


2. Sales Operations & Client Visits Field Role (50%)


- Spend 50% of time in the field meeting with clients, partners, and key accounts.


- Build and maintain strong client relationships, focusing on high-value deals and strategic partnerships.


- Identify new opportunities and market niches for business expansion.


- Act as a brand ambassador in front of key customers and at industry events.


3. Lead Generation & Revenue Growth (30%)


- Drive lead generation initiatives through both traditional and digital channels.


- Work closely with marketing to align campaigns with sales objectives.


- Monitor sales pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue performance to ensure consistent growth.


- Identify and remove bottlenecks in the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.


4. Sales Team Leadership & Training


- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales professionals across multiple locations.


- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of sales team members.


- Conduct performance reviews, training programs, and mentoring to build a high-performance culture.


- Set clear roles, responsibilities, and targets for team members.


5. Market Strategy & Competitor Intelligence


- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and business opportunities.


- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to define positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies.


- Use insights to improve customer engagement and product-market fit.


6. Compliance, Budgeting & Reporting


- Manage the sales budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.


- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.


- Prepare regular performance reports and updates for executive leadership.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


- Achievement of monthly/quarterly/annual revenue targets


- Customer acquisition and retention rates


- Team performance metrics and training outcomes


- Sales cycle efficiency and pipeline health


- Market share growth and client satisfaction index


Required Skills & Qualifications


(MBA preferred)


- Minimum 10+ years of sales experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role


- Proven track record in revenue generation, team building, and market expansion


- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills


- Hands-on experience with CRM tools, sales analytics, and pipeline management


- Ability to work in a field-oriented environment and travel as required


- Ability to lead with vision and integrity in high-pressure environments


- Data-driven decision-making approach
