Position - General Manager - Quality

Job Location - Vishakhapatnam

Work Exp. - 14-20 Years

Qualification - B Sc(Chemistry) & M.Sc. Chemistry and PhD in Chemistry

Job Purpose and Scope:

Provides strategic direction and leadership for the product quality initiatives of Fertilizer Business in both QA and QC aspects.

Primary responsibilities includes

1. Assures continuous improvement product quality towards customer satisfaction

2. Building product quality leadership and competitive advantage in the market

3. Strengthen the quality organization through multiple initiatives

4. Establish high standard quality processes for RM, Procured materials and Finished goods.

5. Manage the establishment and administration of a SBU wide Quality Management System (QMS)

6. Head the quality system related activities for products and processes related to fertilizer manufacturing units for continuous improvements.

The main challenges:

(i) Building product quality focus and priority

(ii) Ensure products quality confirmation to Company and statutory guideline

(iii) liasoning and addressing the market product quality failures through proactive improvement in products quality

Relevant experience (Nature & years of relevant experience required to execute the role):

1. Minimum 14 years of experience with 5-6 years of heading the quality function in a similar industry of Fertilizers & pesticides

2. Rich experience in analytical, QC, QA, R&D of Fertilizer industry with highly skilled in analytical method development and handling high end analytical instruments

3. Good knowledge in fertilizer manufacturing processes and system related knowledge for quality process

4. Knowledge in SAP - QM module

5. Good knowledge in Six Sigma & Lean Six Sigma Principle

Threshold skills and capabilities required to execute the role:

1. Minimum 4-6 years of leadership/managerial experience in Quality Function

2. Deep understanding of the products, processes and practices of the business to plan and deliver the functional strategy

3. Analytical knowledge, structured problem solving skills and expertise in management systems like QMS, IMS, LSS

4. Proven leadership, communication and teamwork skills with demonstrated abilities to both work collaboratively

5. Strategically contribute to the system development to minimize product failure or reprocess to reduce cost of poor quality and improve customer satisfaction
