Back ground of the company : The Company was Incorporated on 31st August 1938, The Company's object is into manufacturing of various products in the consumer domain. It is listed in NSE & BSE with a turnover of more than Rs.300 Crores, They have one factory in UP which employs more than 800 people,The company provides accommodation to its employees. This position will be based at Factory only.

Roles & Responsibilities : The incumbent will be responsible for accountable for availability of all plants requirements in terms of Raw Materials and other materials of the specified quality at optimal costs, their proper storage, inventory level as per norms, statutory compliance's & timely dispatch of finished goods. The commercial function has the following sub-sections: Forest, Purchase, Stores, Dispatch.

Forest is in charge of the Forest function. 

He organizes and executes with the help of his staff members the following activities:

- Procurement of Raw material (Wood / Plywood chips / Bamboo). 

- Development of Raw material (Wood) resources through farm forestry.

- Purchase is in charge of the purchase function. 

He organizes and executes with the help of his staff members the following activities:

- Purchase of chemicals required for manufacturing.

- Purchase of spares and engineering items.

- Procurement of coal.

Sale of the Waste Sludge.

1. Devising the policies, processes and systems for reliable procurement of Raw Material (Cellulosic / Wood / Bamboo), Chemicals, Coal, Fuel Oil, Spares and Engineering Items at optimal costs while ensuring zero loss of production. 

- Drawing-up the budget / plan for the procurement of wood raw material in a cost effective manner.

- Material planning and ensuring purchases of Chemicals, Coal, Fuel Oil, Spares and Engineering Items at the most economical prices. 

- Ensuring finalization of rate contracts for Chemicals, Spares, Engineering items, etc.

- Ensuring formulation and implementation of the plan for farm forestry.

- Liasoning with government bodies like UPFC and UFDC for the procurement of wood raw-material.

- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with major suppliers so as to get the most favored Customer status.

- Implementing best purchase practices to minimize the cycle time from indent to material receipt.

- Ensuring vendor evaluation and vendor development.Ensure that Stores are managed effectively and efficiently.

- Reduction in overall plant inventories, ABC analysis, Codification and Standardization.

- Ensuring timely dispatches of finished goods at the least possible freight cost.

- Ensuring disposal of obsolete and / or surplus items, scrap and waste sludge. 

- Ensuring proper handling and storage of all wood raw materials, management of wood stock yards and implementation of safety measures against theft, fire and termites.

- Ensuring safe handling and storage of chemical raw-materials and statutory compliances. 

- Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.

- Ensuring preparation and monitoring of monthly, quarterly and yearly departmental budgets.

- Lead, motivate, guide and train subordinates and ensure their personal and professional development.

- Ensure discipline in the department and successful implementation of management policies, procedures and systems. 

- Monitor and review performance of subordinates and give appropriate feedback as and when needed.

FREEDOM TO ACT:

The incumbent will arrange for all wood / bamboo purchases and purchase of Chemicals, Coal, Fuel Oil, Spares and Engineering Items as per the requirements of the business. 

He has freedom to ensure that the approved commercial policies, processes and systems are implemented but will need approval from the CEO for any deviation. He can place orders on his own up / refer matters to the Purchase Committee / CEO for approval as per the values / norms prescribed in the commercial policy.

DIMENSIONS:

a) People Related: 5 Executive & Sr. Executive and Clerical staff.

b) Money Related: Purchases worth Rs. 13 cr of Raw Material and other material worth 89 - 90 crores per annum.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: Reduction in material input costs and freight. Ensuring zero loss of production due to stock outs.
