General Manager - Production - Cable Industry

- A person who has experience of production of cables and conductors both LV and MV using newer technologies like XLPE. Probably someone in their early forties would be ideal, with a Production / electrical engineering degree. Commercial experience is also a must, as the candidate will have to take over all commercial dealings including marketing and sales. So an engineer with an MBA would be preferred.

- The candidate should be very articulate, with a good command of English, should be personable, adaptable and also show initiative. He will have to drive the growth of Cable Corporation and introduce new products like Switchgears, Transformers etc through trading initially.

- Prodn./Electrical Engg with MBA is a must. Manufacturing sector experience - Production of cables & conductors both LV and MV using XLPE technology experience Fluency in English. Relocation to Uganda with family. Track record of stability - min. 5 yrs in any of the last 3 cos. Age not exceeding 55.

General Manager will have to take responsibility for :

- Production - planning, management, quality control, output, delivery schedules

- Maintenance of plant and equipment

- Procurement of raw materials and inputs (mostly imported)

- Management of labour and staff including Union negotiations

- Stores management

- Management of capital programs including specifications of machinery and procurement of the same

- Development of budgets and plans

- Development of new products and markets and the overall strategy of the company going forward
