The Client in India has 6 production sites, 2 R&D centers, and more than 2,000 employees and is well positioned to meet the current and future needs of the ever-growing Indian market. They have aggressive growth plans for India which will be driven by an aggressive portfolio of services including transport management system, 3PL, etc. They are looking for GM - Indirect Procurement, based out of Valsad, Gujarat office.

Description

The incumbent will report to the President - Procurement and be responsible for:

1. Ensure procurement of materials other than RM in line with defined guidelines and norms
2. Evaluate suppliers from techno-commercial aspects
3. Negotiate best price with the supplier
4. Ensure receipt of material as per agreed specifications and timelines
5. Ensure timely availability of materials
6. Manage inventories for cataloged items as per norms
7. Ensure safe keeping of RM, PM and EM
8. Ensure compliance to housekeeping norms for Stores
9. Perform the role of People Leader
10. Ensure compliance to relevant statutory requirements
11. Dispose of non-usable engineering items as per norms
12. Improve quality of performance management process

Profile

An ideal candidate will come with at least 15 years' experience, including 10-12 years in execution of diverse indirect procurement activities with a B.E in Mechanical/Electrical. The person must exhibit strong commercial and contractual awareness and excellent negotiation skills. Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with staff, clients and vendors are essential, also experience with Sub-Contract with third-party logistics players.
