Responsibilities :&nbsp; Budgeting :&nbsp; - Liaise with the Technical Head and the team to finalize the overall annual operational budget for the plant technical team - Work with the plant production and maintenance team to identify areas for cost saving and plan and budget for these initiatives Operational Activities Planning :&nbsp; - Plan activities in line with the maintenance department for any capex projects involving installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment - Review and finalize the procurement plan for consumables, spare parts, all supplies and tools required for all technical activities - Process Implementation, Improvement and Communication - Ensure complete understanding of guidelines from the Research and Development department based on laboratory evaluation results, for effective process improvement - Engage in evaluation of production processes and activities with a view to enhance and develop the same - Ensure improvement related changes for standardisation of manufacturing processes - Ensure communication of thorough and fine time specification pertaining to recipes, treatment, extruder process, etc. to Production - Constantly review production and quality performance and scrap generation to identify areas for process improvement and cost savings, provide appropriate solutions and ensure timely implementation - Proactively consider long term solutions and means of upgrading processes and coordinate with concerned departments to arrive at an implementation plan Plant Support and Operations :&nbsp; - Ensure systematic planning and discussions with Plant Production Control department to understand requirements and details pertaining to production at plant on a day to day basis - Ensure acknowledgement and timely resolution of any process issues that arise in the course of production on all shifts - Ensure support to any other plant or OS unit in case the need for such skilled support shall arise - Oversee claims with respect to product performance and conduct overall review of products, pertaining to specific customer complaints or any major product performance issues - Participate regularly with the Plant team on review of production, quality, scrap and costs and jointly arrive at solutions and be an integral part of Plant management - Ensure all technical team activities are carried out in complete adherence of the safety, health and environmental policies and procedures for the Plant - Drive improvements for all important activity changes and their record updating with QBM New Product Industrialisation :&nbsp; - Ensure that plant trials for NPD and other improvement projects are scheduled and adhered to - Provide for expertise and support in ensuring that trials provide their due results - Ensure acquisition of detailed and scrupulous inputs from the Production and Engineering department for all matters pertaining to the technicalities of production to ensure processes designed appropriately - Ensure orderly dispatch of all first trials for further testing - Engaging in brainstorming discussions with team, at the time of New Product Development to ensure that the product and processes shall ensure minimal wastages, maximum outputs at minimal costs Raw Material Quality Specification :&nbsp; - Conduct tests to confirm quality/suitability of new compounds, to be sent to and acquired as per the details provided by the Research and Development team - Ensure review of and Initiate purchaseof new compounds for trials that are routed through the Research and Development department - Ensure meticulous selection of dyes pertaining to the style and design furnished by the Design team Improvement Activities :&nbsp; - Cost Management - People Management
