General Manager - Plant Operations - Manufacturing (18-28 yrs)

A Strong candidate who is an existing Plant Head from a Japanese MNC in Auto Components. Well versed with Japanese Quality Standards & Other Manufacturing Implementations.


Should have overall experience in managing P&L of the plant. Experience of handling 1000+ manpower with 300 Cr turnover. Following Verticals will be reporting to him :

- PPC, Dispatch & Stores

- Purchase

- Systems

- Finance

- PE

- Tool Room

- IT


Job Objective :


- To lead the plant and drive growth through planning of the manufacturing capabilities and ensure cost effective and efficient manufacturing process.


Primary Responsibilities :


Financial : Provide inputs during Annual Business planning and preparation of Annual Financial Budget for the organization.


- Accountable for overall Profit and Loss of the plant


Customer :


- Ensure customer focus through effective customer relationship management including product costing, customer delivery and customer grievance handling activities at the plant level


- Drive new product design & development at the plant in line with the Customer Requirements in coordination with Corporate Engineering function


Process :


- Develop long term growth plans for the plant and ensure its alignment with organizational growth plan


- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of the manufacturing process, lead productivity improvements through automation of systems and process improvements


- Drive cost savings through process improvements and reduction in operational expenses/ overheads and ensure reduction of cost of production. Consumable Savings and Productivity improvement


- Ensure formulation of weekly production plans with support of Manufacturing Head and ensure adherence to the same


- Plan the plant maintenance activities in discussion with Head of Maintenance and monitor the implementation to ensure that the maintenance activities are carried out as per schedule in order to maximize up-time for the machines


- Plan the manpower deployment at the plant in coordination with the Department Heads and HR Head to maximize their productivity


- Guide and ensure coordination between production, quality control and maintenance functions and ensure clear understanding of targets and expectations


- Ensure optimal resource utilization and streamlining of activities by effective planning & coordination between processes and functions such as Purchase & Stores, Production, Maintenance and PPC & Dispatch


- Ensure, in assistance with Quality Systems & Quality Control function, that the quality of the products meet the customer demands


- Support the consistent & effective implementation of the designed policies, systems and interventions at the Plant in coordination with HR Head


- Review daily, weekly and monthly production MIS reports to match actual performance vis- vis the targets and provide action steps to minimize variance


Learning & Development :


- Drive Rockman Industries core values within the Plant


- Provide guidance, counseling and feedback to subordinates on their performance to ensure a motivated and committed team


- Actively participate in recruitment of senior roles across the Plant


- Nominate subordinates actively for the people development initiatives like trainings, workshops across the organization etc.


- Oversee the employee relations function to ensure harmonious labor relations in the Plant
