General Manager - Plant Operations - Garment

POSITION - General Manager - Operations ( Sipcot, Perundurai - Near Erode)

Company Reputed Garment Company located at Tirupur

Work Location Sipcot, Perundurai

PURPOSE AND SCOPE :

- To be responsible for overall operations of various functions at Sipcot plant - related to fabrics, knitting, cutting CAD, Bierrebi, Stitching, etc - to manage them maintaining quality at Global Standards, and profitably

- To lead expansion of the unit into further activities and support to overall supply chain of the company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Manage complete operations at Sipcot plant including knitting, compacting, cutting - CAD, Bierrebi, stitching, warehousing, etc achieving highest efficiency possible at mass scale

- Ensuring proper quality as per Global standards, and low defect ratios.

- Manage effectively team of managers, supervisors, workers - strength of 1000+ so that they are motivated and efficient.

- Ensure proper utilization of resources - materials (yarn, fabrics, accessories), machinery (spares, etc), manpower

- Ensure the best systems and processes in place at the factory, including Lean, Sig Sigma, 5S, TQM, etc

- Supervise various admin activities of the plant to ensure it smooth functioning

- To actively work in expansion in operations of the plant - either existing or new activities supporting the Supply Chain of the company.

- Acts as important member of cross-functional team, particularly for new product development

- Any other responsibility as may be required by the organization

KPI (KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS):

- Efficiency and profitability of each operations to be met as per parameters

- Quality to be maintained between A to A+ rating (current company norms)

- Resource utilization with <1% Avoidable Loss

- Any other parameter as suitably decided by the organization

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILL SET

Education and Experience

- 20+ years experience in various activities in textile/apparel unit

- Graduate/post graduate

Technical Skills

- Excellent knowledge on overall plant administration

- Some experience preferred on aspects of fabrics, apparels, etc

- Various tools of lean, sig sigma, 5S

Personal Skills:

- Manage/lead a large team of people with positive approach and discipline

- Coordination/collaboration skills with various internal departments

- Honesty/Integrity

- Problem solving, decision making

Other Skills:

- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, SAP (or similar ERP)

- Languages - English, Hindi, Tamil

CTC, Location:

- Industry norms with incentives upon achievement of KPI.

- Currently situated at Sipcot, Perundurai (subject to change as per situation)
