Responsibilities :&nbsp; - Strategic Planning and Budgeting - Establish a roadmap for Technical function in line with business objectives of the organization - Devise a plan for implementation of the NPD plan and ensure adherence to the same - Review and finalize the overall annual operational budget for the plant technical function - Plan activities of the department for major initiatives such as any capex projects involving installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, introduction of new products, major process changes, etc and ensure appropriate resourcing Industrialization :&nbsp; - Assume the overall responsibility of the industrialization process and identify opportunities to improve technical design/ composition of the product - Ensure timely resolution of technical issues during the industrialization as well as bulk production to ensure adherence to manufacturing schedule Operations:&nbsp; - NPD and other plant trials - Liaise with the the Plant Technical teams and if required with the Plant head to ensure that the plant trials with regards to any NPD process are being conducted as per schedule and are delivering the desired results &nbsp;- Support and take corrective action in case of any delays in scheduling - Drive technical trials at the plant for achieving higher productivity, efficiency and manufacturing process optimization for existing as well as new products Tracking and Monitoring :&nbsp; Cost optimization :&nbsp; - Provide leadership to evaluate the conversion cost of products and to identify, prioritize and plan opportunities for cost optimization - Lead product cost optimization(Technical economy)efforts through compound changes, construction changes and use of alternate raw material usage within the allowed deviation limits set by R&amp;D (value engineering) - Provide a direction to tweak the technical processes and develop products with lesser internal iterations and higher efficiency (reduce cycle times) - Lead efforts for alternate vendor development for efficient delivery of products and services at an optimum cost - Drive Change management - Capability building of Team and OS Partners - People Management
