General Manager - Operations - Manufacturing

Our Client : It is a large and well-respected Business House of India having diverse interests globally with strong Indian roots. The Group operates in the areas of Automobiles, Batteries, Real Estate, Mining, Oil & Lubricants, Healthcare, Power, Media, IT & BPO, Trading, etc. The Group is Headquartered in Europe.

One of its listed companies operating in the Manufacturing Space particularly in the Battery Segment has entrusted us with the selection of a General Manager - Operations for their plant located in Western India.

Qualifications: Engineering with a PG degree.

- In line with the Group's philosophy of recruiting only the best talent available in the country the person we are looking for must be intellectually outstanding and be a knowledge-based leader in the area of battery manufacturing with 15 - 20 years of pertinent experience.

- The incumbent must be currently heading a plant and having relevant exposure in heading end to end operations of large facilities including Manufacturing, Logistics, Engg & Maintenance / HR, QC & Finance, R&D/ Product Technology.

- Must have plant leadership experience and deft at managing cross-functional teams.

Indicative job responsibilities:

- Handling day to day operations to ensure the manufacturing targets (in terms of production, dispatch, quality, cost of production and RM / PM stocks etc.) are met.

- Deliberate with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.

- Responsible for the product quality control for the plant.

- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that all production goals are met.

- Improves operational efficiency through effective control of resources

- Cost control and job cost monitoring

- Ensure adherence to all quality systems and requirements

- Develop and implement safety systems and standards and for developing a safe working environment

Skills & Behaviour:

- The incumbent needs to be a strong leader with an ability to provide leadership at all levels below him in the organisation. He must have good people skills, be a persuasive communicator, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and be capable of thinking with innovation and creativity.

- He should have an excellent man-management skills and building relationships, at all levels.
