General Manager - New Business Development & Alliances - Pharma Contract Manufacturing Firm (10-16 yrs)
We are looking for a GM - New business development for the largest pharma contract manufacturing company in India with roughly 1 in 8 medicines being consumed are being manufactured by them. They have recently also raised $ 70 million funding for expansion.
This role will explore tie-ups of contract manufacturing opportunities with New age tech start-ups and NGOs' for contract manufacturing.
The person shall report to the Managing Director of the company.
Role Summary :
Pharma, nutraceutical and cosmetic space is fast evolving in India. Today, apart from traditional pharma and nutraceutical companies, several digital / new-age players / FMCG / hospitality companies have also gained prominence in procurement of pharmaceuticals / nutraceuticals / cosmetic products. Several NGOs / philanthropic groups are also actively procuring pharmaceuticals / nutritionals. Akums is looking for a General Manager for onboarding such companies / groups for contract manufacturing.
Core Job Responsibilities :
1. New Client Identification: Identify institutions / companies beyond traditional pharmaceutical companies and explore potential ways Akums can partner with them
2. New client development: Pitch capabilities of Akums to convert the leads into successful and meaningful business relationship
3. Product Ideation: Ideation to contribute in Akums portfolio so as to keep up with needs of new age players
4. International Expansion: Explore ways to tie up with global technology platforms in healthcare / adjoining industries to establish strategic collaboration, relevant to Akums business
Desired skillset and experience :
1. 10+ years of experience in business development of in healthcare / nutraceuticals / pharmaceuticals / consumer health / wellness domain through B2B channel
2. Industry relations with FMCG / consumer care / wellness companies / relevant startups / NGOs / healthcare companies
3. Experience in relevant business development in India must, with international exposure desired
4. Knowledge on product selection and competitor analysis in pharma desired
5. Excellence communication and presentation skills
6. Willingness to travel for at least 6-10 days in a month
