General Manager - Marketing - Retail (8-14 yrs)

Our client is a leading luxury retailer with a pan-India presence. The company is working on its retail expansion strategy. Given the direct correlation between sales and an effective marketing strategy there is a special emphasis on strengthening the marketing team. The incumbent is expected to work closely with and support the Head Marketing.

Key expectations from the role are:

Branding, Communication & Expansion :

- Along with the Head Marketing, conceptualize and implement an appropriate and consistent brand positioning strategy.

- Develop an innovative marketing strategy and execute plans to support the expansion strategy in new markets / locations.

- Monitor brand/product/store health; develop effective B2C schemes and promotional initiatives to maximize customer acquisition and footfalls.

- Decode and position products in a manner that resonates with the Indian consumer - across all touch points (consumer proposition, pricing & overall customer experience)

- Support and contribute to the strategy definition for the product portfolio ensuring alignment between the marketing strategies and sales targets.

- Regularly monitor and enhance effectiveness of various marketing programs; review achievements against revenue targets.

- Work with the Head Marketing to create an integrated approach combining ATL, BTL and Digital marketing, sponsorships, promotions, and public relations to create initiatives actively promoting the product / brand.

- Responsible for delivering marketing objectives, sales strategy, revenue growth and brand portfolio augmentation

Business Enablement :

- Establish an effective marketing research process to gather customer insights.

- Track competition, market, consumer & product trends and make recommendations to all key stakeholders (marketing, operations, product development and sales teams) based on analysis and feedback.

- Create monthly and quarterly reports outlining goals, opportunities and threats

- Develop effective promotional strategies to attract and sustain customers

Digital / BI / Analytics :

- Actively support revenue and sales targets

- Develop a strong sales interface and use BI and Analytics to drive sales and distribution strategies

- Leverage BI and Analytics to enable/push sales

- Have a keen sense of target-segment, digital-marketing tools, and platforms, ready to explore more and grow in this role is required.

- Defining the marketing strategy to scale the digital funnel and increase outreach
