General Manager - Marketing & Innovations Finance Business Partner - FMCG (12-16 yrs)
Supervisor's Position : Head - Commercial Finance
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :
The purpose of the role is to support business and financial goals through financial performance management with the objective of meeting USL goals
Qualification: MBA Finance, CA, ICWA
Experience: 12 years post qualification experience
Knowledge & skills :
- Possess a flair for numbers, an ability to think big-picture and long
- Ability to communicate with and explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-driven with the capacity to work in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to be a team player, trouble-shooter and a consensus-builder

- Excellent analytical, written & verbal communication skills"

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Business Partner :
- Advise in developing strategic business priorities/ goals including function-wise business plans in alignment with business plans for the organization as a whole
- Provide sound financial analysis (including ad-hoc analytics) on performance of the various teams and propose action plans and alternatives (if required) to improve continuously
- Recommend transformation opportunities for creating world-class function
- Act as the budget custodian/steward in managing expenditure (direct, indirect, procurement, admin like IT etc.) and providing cost control in line with annual plans
- Advise and support leadership in defining standards and policies
- Work with the senior leaders of the functions in delivering finance services and support
- Keep abreast with the leading practices on financial processes and drive implementation of efficient and consistent systems
- Lead projects within the supporting functions, especially projects related to streamlining and/or improving processes and systems"
Enhanced delivery of financial services :
- Responsible for leading budget planning of respective business partnered functions
- Responsible for supporting the function heads on key decisions and matters impacting the financial performance of the function
- Act as a trusted business advisor providing data-driven insights and challenge decision making from a finance perspective
- Ensure enhanced financial performance vs. forecasts and better financial-commercial decision making
- Responsible for designing cost controls, institutionalizing greater discretion and improving return on investments
- Engage with senior leadership for operating budgets and plans
- Drive exceptional quality standards by focusing on enhanced delivery of business partnering services to the functions"
Governance & Compliance :
- Drive the creation and implementation of effective governance, compliance and risk management frameworks across USL to drive holistic performance and maintain reputation
- Ensure pro-active input into preventative actions to address key business risks
- Manage issues to mitigate impact and risk by early involvement
- Guide resolution of issues and proactively create an environment where risk is avoided
- Champion the embedding of a compliance culture within USL"
