Job Purpose:

- Legal Planning & Documentation, handling litigation, supporting property acquisition, providing advice on all legal matters and securing the brand image from a legal perspective

Budget Handled / Responsible for Number of People / Extent of Signature Authority: 2-3 direct reports

Accountabilities:

1 Legal due diligence of land / operating hotel / resort properties which will include visit to the properties, coordinating with the external local lawyers for the legal due diligence, meetings with Owners / aggregators

2 Lease / License / Inventory Agreements - To prepare LOI / MOU / Term sheet for lease / license / inventory arrangements and also draft the Lease / License / Inventory Agreements including Addendum to the Agreements and ensure registration of all the property agreements

3 Consumer cases : Handling of consumer cases for various regions including doing research and briefing Advocates

4 All other litigation like Land litigation, recovery cases, property cases, labour cases, IPR cases, cheque bounce cases - to handle all litigation matters pertaining to the areas mentioned and also follow up with lawyers and brief Counsels and also do independent research / prepare a strategy for each cases

5 Legal Repository - to ensure that learnings of various matters are captured in a repository and the past learnings can then be used by the legal team for future

6 Contract management and vetting : To vet / draft corporate / resort / outsourced vendors / suppliers / project agreements from time to time

7 Land deals : To work closely with Head Land development, ensure that legal due diligence of land is done in a timebound manner and ensure that follow up meetings are held on a monthly basis to track the progress and ensure rigorous follow up with various stakeholders including aggregators / consultants and prepare monthly reports

8 Advisory role : to render advice to all the other departments like Information Technology, Marketing, Member Experience Management, Sales, HR, Operations, Strategy, Projects on an on going basis

9 Updation of all laws applicable to the Company : To keep abreast of all laws applicable to the Company and advice the management from time to time on implications of new legislation on business.

10 Safe custody of all legal records of the Company : To ensure safe keeping and proper tracking of all the important documents / agreements of the Company and periodically updating the statement and sharing it with all important stakeholders.

11 Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) : To ensure that the IPRs, i.e Trademarks and Copyrights of the Company are duly protected and applications filed within reasonable time and ensure that renewal application are filed with Trademark Registry well ahead of time

12 Compliance statement : to verify the licenses / approvals received for various resorts and prepare a compliance check list of all the laws and regulations affecting the company and track the progress on a monthly basis

ANY OTHER COMMENTS:

- 15-20 years plus experience in reputed law firms / leading corporate and having handled a mix of litigation matters (Consumer cases, property litigation, labor matters), property / real estate matters / land acquisition, contract management and IPR
