General Manager - International Business - FMCG - DIVERSITY ROLE 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Expansion of the portfolio globally & Business Development :

- Identify opportunities across markets and liaise with the affiliate MD & Commercial/Marketing team to develop strategic synergy and get buying in for the introduction of the portfolio in respective markets

- Support affiliates across workstreams, e.g., Commercial, Marketing & Manufacturing (wherever applicable) to roll out the project pre-launch

- Regular support & co-ordination between various functions within PR India and market companies to smooth running of business all the way.

2. Brand Management (Including responsibility of reporting team) :

- Work closely with markets to drive successful implementation of Marketing initiatives and provide day to day support where necessary

- Support CMO and lead as directed on projects within the brand strategic pillars of Expand Footprint & Consumer Connection

- Lead cross-functional project team including agency partners ensuring project adherence as per the need of the market

- Ensure M&E (Measurement & Evaluation) across key projects

- Oversee direct reports who also have responsibility for brand management

3. Develop brand strategy, marketing plan & communication :

- Annual brand review (calendar year base)

- Annual brand strategies, action plans (conceptual) and consumer A&P for budget planning (fiscal year base)

- Detail marketing action plan for implementation (half yearly base)

- Develop 5-year strategic plan, global brand positioning with minimum customization by market, platform and advertising campaign development for important brands

- Localized brand activation platforms development based on local market environment, consumer needs and appropriate translation of global brand positioning if needed

- At a later stage, post launch & stabilization of initial distribution of brand, need to organize Strategic/disruptive workshops with the marketing team & market companies to identify key brand issues/opportunities and strategic direction

- Develop consumer insights and market intelligence by identifying key understanding needs of each brand and brief research managers to develop annual research plan.

- This position is to leverage different resources (agencies, brand companies, regional sales etc.) to collect market intelligence and competitive information and participate in sufficient market visits to formulate excellent sense of consumers and markets

- Frequently and effectively share consumer insights and market intelligence within brand teams, key agencies/consultants and seek necessary help from research managers

- Lead the development of advertising, media plan and key campaigns through Brand Development Managers (Direct Reports) & Brand Managers and support local advertising projects development through following internal marketing procedure and coordinate with marketing team if the projects are co-developed by PR affiliate and brand companies together

- Regularly communicate with brand managers and media managers to maximize media spot plan developed by media agency to ensure media objectives/strategies answered.

- Develop digital strategies including websites, social media and other digital media for the brands in respective market through Brand Development Managers (Direct Reports) and seek support from Digital Manager & Brand Managers

- Lead or provide brand managers strategic direction and supervision, to develop marketing campaign ideas, concepts and action plans through effectively leveraging resources of agencies, trade marketing, country sales & research managers of the affiliates or PR India.

4. Financial & Resource Management :

- Manage the overall profitability of the portfolio of brands; carefully managing overall A&P investment and reconciliations of spend

- Proactively challenge all actions from key partners and agencies to ensure we are continuously getting the best value

- Work with functional experts and other teams to establish the commercial and technical viability of new ideas and projects

5. Leadership :

- Educate the team with company values and ethic codes through team building activities, team meeting or one-to-one education /coaching on company policies and behaving as example

- Provide mid-year and full year appraisals to direct reports; encourage improvement of people management skill within the team

- Identify people issues/needs of the team; provide appropriate recommendation to CMO on recruitment, individual development plan (training, promotion, etc.) and appropriate recognition (word-of-mouth recognition, PRC recognition awards, etc.)

- Become a valued member of the PRI Marketing & International Business Development team. Work with team to deliver the key projects through developing strong communication both upwards and across the Global Marketing team and the Organization
