General Manager - Human Resource - Manufacturing Firm (8-12 yrs)
Job Purpose:
Ensuring higher levels of productivity, efficiency and employee engagement by developing and monitoring overall HR strategies, systems, policies and practices across the Unit
Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
Planning and implementing strategies for Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and Succession Planning
Job Responsibilities:
Manpower Planning & Budgeting:
Prepare P&B budget, CAPEX, manpower planning as per the business norms
Designing strategies to attract and retain Talent
Prepare and implement strategies to reduce Time-to-Hire and improve Quality of Hire
Maintain and develop system for identification of manpower requirement
Ensuring adherence to approved manpower numbers in the Unit
HR Policies and System
Plan strategies for effective implementation of HR Systems, Policies and Practices at the Unit Level
Formulate strategies for reviews of HR polices and procedure at Unit level
Develop channels and provide platform to receive feedback from the Management Cadre and Non- Management Cadre employees on the Policies and Systems implemented at the unit level
Coordinating with HO and developing and implementing strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy
Ensure compliance of HR audits and preparation of MIS
Ensure participation in Vibes Surveys, identification and review of action plans
Performance Management & Rewards and Benefits
Facilitate and ensure smooth completion of the Performance Management process- Goal Setting, Mid-Year Review and Final Appraisals as per business guideline within timeline
Ensuring preparation and review of PIPs for partial performers.
Ensure renewal of employee benefits within timelines
Ensure timely submission and transparency in rewards schemes
Training
Formulate systems to identify, develop and organize training programs for Staff, Permanent Workmen & Contract Workmen in alignment with Unit and Business Goals.
Ensuring participation of identified employees in the trainings in coordination with FHs/DHs/SHs
Identify and select external training and accreditation bodies or agencies and providers necessary to deliver required training
Ensure Training Effectiveness Analysis and Skills based trainings for workmen.
Ensure development of infrastructure for learning and development activities
Ensuring creation of MDP and development plans for employees
Plan and deliver training course
Talent Management & Development
Formulate plans in consolation with FH HRM for talent assessment as per business guidelines
Assessment and Reviews, Creation of development plans for Focus 50, Talent Pool and Non-Talent Pool Members
Formulate strategies for career management process of entire workforce
Ensure that a robust succession plan is defined and implemented across all levels
Employee Engagement & Culture Building
Plan annual budgets for employee engagement and cultural activities; ensure execution as per plan, and coverage of staff across cadres
Drive business and unit-level employee engagement interventions; conduct surveys and/or FGDs for gauging the 'Voice of Employees'
Work with Function/ Department heads to co-create and ensure buy-in on action plans around identified focus areas; monitor execution through team; track improvement in Employee Engagement scores
Drive employee satisfaction and delight through relevant and well-managed initiatives and events
Conducting quarterly communication meet and ensure employee communication
Ensure implementation of event calendar
People Management
Setting stretched targets for self as well as team which are in line with Unit's targets
Develop subordinates by enhancing their skills and abilities so as to take up higher responsibilities through requisite trainings on behavioral competencies, soft skills and functional areas functional areas
Conduct periodic feedback conversations with team members as part of, and in addition to, the performance appraisal processes
Conduct training sessions of team members and identifying and nominating them for internal/external programs
Safety
Plan, Review and ensure completion of Training and Competency Development Sub Committee Master Action Plan.
To complete Safety Observation rounds as per Unit norms
Ensure Safety Training Needs Identification and adherence to safety training planner for all employee of the Unit.
Coordination with other Units TCDSC Teams for seamless implementation across business.
To lead and drive for standards implementation & participation in respective subcommittee/standards/area owner meetings.
To facilitate Tool Box Meeting in the allotted area and adhere to Personal Safety Action Plan.
