General Manager - Finance & Strategy - Financial Services/Life Insurance - CA/IIM/FMS/MDI

The individual will help the financial services franchise transform into a customer centric business with a digital backbone. In this role s/he oscillate between planning carefully and executing relentlessly. You scan the market for global best practices and be the lighthouse of new learning for the organization. You also keep a keen eye on competition and the evolving regulatory landscape. You help the leadership team to figure out the key strengths of the organization for competitive advantage, provide business critical insights using analytics, help in supporting the leadership in running cross functional key initiatives, and also help the leadership teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward.

- Strategy & Planning: Work closely with the group's Life insurance business team, and individual business owners to help build, share and drive focus on our business strategy. The work will also involve developing market intelligence through strong research skills, and keeping the team abreast with the latest developments.

- Shareholder management: Active and regular interactions and management of the Shareholders of the business

- M&A and due diligence: Help in supporting discussions on inorganic growth opportunities and conducting deal analysis

- Cross-functional Project Management: Lead implementation and drive thinking of strategic initiatives, working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders

- Analytics: Build, maintain and communicate detailed reporting models to assist decision-making

The Successful Applicant:

- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in corporate planning or business consulting

- Education: CA and/or MBA from a top tier institute

- Someone who has worked extensively in Financial Services; experience of working in Life Insurance is a strong preference

- Someone with strong analytical, strategic and a critical thinker, able to step back and see the big picture, and an expert at turning complex topics into simple executive-level narratives

- S/he can identify strategic needs, support in all aspects of planning with sound business recommendations and generate alignment with key business functions and sometimes external partners as well.
