General Manager - Direct & Indirect Taxation - Manufacturing

CA / Master's degree with a preference in Taxation

- 10+ years of professional work experience in Finance discipline with a focus on Taxation

- 3+ years of people management experience (preferred)

- Experience leading teams in an agile, dynamic customer-centric environment

- Experience and ability to lead tax and finance staff

Purpose of the role:

The Position leads tax compliance, planning, and accounting for direct and indirect taxes, and ensures they are aligned with the overall finance strategy. The position is also responsible for the performance and development of employees with tax responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of a full range of tax services (Direct, indirect taxes) in compliance with laws and regulations and in alignment to the business & Finance strategy vision for 2025

- Handle litigations in partnership with the internal and external stakeholders including consultants

- Ensure the participation and support to audits by statutory, internal and tax auditors and management of annual tax assessments

- Establish strategies to minimize tax expenses and exposures, with regard to taxes paid to include applicable national, state, local and international (if applicable) income taxes, property taxes, sales and other indirect taxes

- Lead the development and ongoing management of internal policies relating to taxation and implement these policies into existing accounting practices, and ensures corporate compliance with all applicable local & state, national & international tax obligations

- Lead preparation of corporate tax returns and related reports, both internally and with external vendors

- Represent and defend the tax position of the organization to tax regulating bodies during audits or reviews
