General Manager - Digital & Technology Transformation Strategy - Agri Domain (10-15 yrs)

In 2019 the Company has developed a Long Term Strategy (LTS) 2025 for all its business units (BUs). BUs will lead the strategy implementation with support from the Corporate Strategy team headed by the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

One of the key pillars of LTS is Digital and Technology Transformation. Digital and Technology transformation will aim to accelerate achievement of business priorities and functional excellence through implementation of digital use cases across the value chain. This includes :

- Conceptualizing digital initiatives to bring best in Digital and Technology capabilities

- Creating and owning the Digital Roadmap to execute all initiatives

The GM - Digital will be responsible for reshaping and driving the Digital and Technology transformation with specific focus on :

- Assessing current maturity and defining the overall strategy for Digital maturity

- Implementing and managing several Digital and Technology initiatives

- Providing thought leadership to BUs to implement their Digital linked LTS initiatives

- Development of Digital capability through team building and external partnership

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic :

Strategy Development :

- Define vision and mission for Digital Strategy and the roadmap

- Design and define Digital strategies and specific initiatives including Digital tools to help meet its LTS aspiration

- Explore, evaluate and engage with relevant external partners (via acquisitions/ JVs/ partnerships including startups) to build and scale-up the Digital maturity of company

- Act as a cross-functional change agent by understanding all BU challenges and requirements - explore the possibility to creatively solve using Digital Technology

Research :

- Continuously assess current maturity of Digital capabilities at the company compared to best in class

- Through secondary research partnerships, monitor latest trends, competitors' activities and identify potential areas in which to invest to enhance the Digital maturity of company and its BU

- Conduct primary research by engaging with external experts, consultants, vendors and customers for deeper grasp of competition and market trends

Operational :

Corporate :

- Implement and manage several key Digital initiatives to advance Digital maturity

- Build the Technology and Digital architecture to execute the Digital roadmap

- Define and periodically update the annual plan (1 year) for Digital

- Prepare presentations and reports for several purposes such as informing stakeholders of LTS progress, sharing analysis results, investor presentations, board reviews etc.

- Build business cases, pitches and investment proposals to drive strategic decisions

- Track budget, measure and report performance of all Digital programs, and assess ROI and KPIs

- Partner with relevant agencies to develop and deploy Digital / Technology related training sessions for key internal stakeholders

Business Units :

- Partner with key internal (all BU) & external stakeholders to create a BU Digital roadmap to achieve Digital priorities in LTS 2025

- Guide business initiative teams to translate Digital initiatives into implementation steps, timelines, resource requirement and target impact

- Work with business to closely support execution of key strategic Digital initiatives

Required Candidate profile :

- BE -IT & MBA with 10 -15 years of total experience

- Atleast 8-10 years of experience in Digital Technological roles

- Atleast 5 years of Managerial experience

- Prior experience in Digital / analytics / Innovation and Transformation madatory

- Prior experience in Agri related industry preferred.

- Candidates currently working with Consulting firms in agriculture / fertilizer domain preferred.

- Highly proficient in the entire MS Office suite

- Business case and investment modelling

- Strategic planning using qualitative tools

- Project management skills

- Problem solving skills in ambiguous and unstructured environment

- Business build skills

- Ability to define, simplify, standardize processes and implement best practices

- Strong business intuition with basic knowledge and understanding of the agricultural market in India and globally

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the technological concepts, especially around Digitization

- Analytical skills- Data driven thinking Digital and Tech savvy; comfortable with tools and Technology

- Proactive thinking
