General Manager/Deputy General Manager - Purchase/Project Buying - Steel/Cement/Stones

Position: GM/DGM - Purchase (only projects buying)

Work Exp. : Minimum 12 yrs.

Qualification: Graduate or Civil Engineering

Graduate or Civil Engineer having experience in procurement of steel, cement, stone, tiles, furniture and lighting items. Strong knowledge of stones.

Role & Responsibility:

Having knowledge of international buying, able to identify new vendors and should be well versed with latest technology available and on latest price trends of construction material.

Vendor Development : 

Selection of vendor basis their capacity/capability and market reach with required quality parameters. Development of new vendors for better spread of procurement and throwing competition for lowest pricing.

Material Management : 

Formulating competent procurement strategies to establish a robust network of vendors for varied material requirements. Scrutiny of specifications of material required in order to arrive at the lowest pricing with better quality. Strong follow-up for material delivery in order to avoid any criticality at sites. Identification of new developed material as per the latest innovations to benefit the organization by adoption of the newly developed products.

Purchase Policies : 

Drafting and implementation of purchase policies to enhance team performance. Evaluating performance & monitoring of team work for best trade practices. Implementing effective strategies to maximize cost benefits by reduction of rates/entering into long term and short term contracts. - Training to team for effective two way communication between site and stores.

Vendor Management : 

Interfacing with vendors for better understanding of organization goals. Ensuring good relations with vendors for timely support from them. Ensuring regular co-ordination with Accounts & Finance for vendor payments. Ensuring speedy resolution of queries & grievances of vendors to maximize vendor satisfaction levels and maintaining excellent relations with vendors to generate avenues for further business.

Team Management : 

Designing and implementing training modules to develop new recruits into professionals. Preparing timely reports for monitoring team performance; guiding team members to inculcate in them the art of best practices of purchase and vendor management
