Title - Lead Sales Specialist

Business - Onshore Winds, GE Renewable Energy

Location - Bangalore/Gurgaon/Noida

Role Summary/Purpose:

The candidate, based in India, would be the Sales Specialist responsible for revenue, profitability & growth for South Asia & ASEAN for the Digital Services portfolio in GE's Onshore Wind business.

Essential Responsibilities:

- As the Digital Services Sales Specialist, you shall be responsible for all sales activities for existing as well as prospective clients of the GE's Wind business in NEA. This includes having single point accountability of assigned targets on revenue & profitability for all transactional businesses as well as lead from the front on all growth initiatives for the business beyond the existing clientele.

- As an Individual Contributor Sales Leader, you will need to have full knowledge of the O&M cycles of all Wind customers in the region, ensure optimum customer engagement, pre-empt customer needs for transactional purchases (parts, billables & small projects) & be a single point contact for all customers in SA & ASEAN region.

- Partner effectively with key stakeholders like Commercial Operations, bidding, procurement, finance, legal & supply chain teams to ensure a seamless commercial process in the ITO (Inquiry to Order) phase & effectively hand it over to the OTR (Order to Remittance) team.

- Be the owner / custodian of all sales related MIS, that includes maintaining an updated tracker in the prescribed formats for the Regional & Global sales calls every week, provide accurate & timely feedback to the line management as and when required & make recommendations / raise red flags in time.

- Strictly adhere to the prescribed sales process, including discipline of maintaining all deals as per the defined sales cycle. Make timely inputs & updates into Sales Force & other portals as applicable,

- Co-ordinate with Regional and Global engineering, Product management and the Regional Sales Leader to own & lead all growth initiatives in NEA like Life Extension program, Power Ups & other upgrade campaigns

- Lead initiatives in uncovering new markets, make recommendations & demonstrate proactive & outcome-focused leadership at all times

- Maintain a weekly report-out rhythm to the line management as per agreed format

Qualifications/Requirements:

MANDATORY - Candidate must have experience of selling services / O&M and digital solutions in the renewable energy space.

- Degree in engineering, preferably with a masters in management ( preferred but not compulsory for the right candidate) and having between 10-15 years of experience, part of which has to be in the Renewable Energy Space of India in particular.

- Strong understanding of the Renewable Energy Industry, especially that of Onshore Wind business in the region, including regulatory nuances, business models & key players

- Understanding of & having desired working level relationships with regulatory bodies & existing network within major players (customers) in NEA.

Desired Characteristics:

- Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to assimilate & learn financial models as applicable to the Renewable Energy industry.

- Strong networker with a collaborative and result-focused working style to be effective in a matrix environment

- Strong commercial acumen (escalation clauses, Fx clauses, indemnities, liabilities and flexibility) & negotiation skills

- Possess a track record of presenting business models to top management as well as conduct small ticket sales with working levels at client organizations

- Original thinking & the ability to challenge status quo when necessary

- Big picture thinking & connect to the larger goals of the organization

- Being a Self-starter & an out-of-box thinker

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a multicultural and multilingual environment

- Must possess strong communication skills (oral, written) in English. Experience of SEA cultural diversity will be an advantage, though not compulsory.
