Position Title : Senior Engineering Manager

Band : SP

Essential Responsibilities :

- In the GEHC Interventional organisation, the manager has the responsibility to lead a functional team composed of mechanical, electrical, power electronics, firmware engineers and project leaders who owns all HW development for the Interventional Products.

- He/She has the direct team management responsibility in collaboration with program teams & other functional teams, he/she ensures program execution for products delivering customer requirements, quality & cost.

- Setting the strategy and direction of the Hardware engineering function and driving continuous improvement of systems, products and processes.

- Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, talent development, coaching and mentoring. Identify the competencies required to recruit & develop a high-performing engineering team with deep functional expertise.

- Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget.

- Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in all areas of the GEHC Quality Management System.

- Supporting existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering.

Role Summary/Purpose :

- Senior Engineering Manager - Hardware, leads the hardware function for the Interventional Engineering organization at Bangalore.

- He/She leads the hardware team through the product development lifecycle while meeting quality, regulatory compliance, cost and business targets. In addition, will drive talent development and engagement for the team locally, as well as partner with global functional leaders to ensure high performance environment for the team.

Qualifications/Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical or Mechanical or equivalent.

- Minimum of 15 years progressive engineering work experience

- Prior supervisory experience of 4 to 5 years with proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others.

- Very strong technical background in domain of expertise (electrical, electronic or mechanical)

- Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timing and quality of outcomes.-

- Ability to manage priority tradeoffs to optimize program deliveries.

- Deep Functional Expertise in relevant engineering discipline and problem solving skills.

- Understanding of Cross Functional perspectives and ability to influence and deliver right solutions.

- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, at various levels of the organization.

Desired Characteristics :

- Masters (or) PhD in Engineering.

- Experience in Systems Design/Systems Integration involving components from disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, software etc.

- Business Planning : Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change.

- Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues. Responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.

- Excellent influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiative.

- Strong business acumen as well as customer focused influencing skills.

- Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry.

- Previous experience in regulated medical device company.
