About this role : The VP, Team Manager position within the Project & Portfolio Management Peer & Practitioner Research team is responsible for leading a global and growing team of both experienced and inexperienced researchers whose insights guide PPM leaders on critical management decisions, helping to drive business outcomes.


This role requires :


- A professional manager and leader with outstanding motivational and change management capabilities.

Exceptional people development and coaching skills.


- Proven execution skills. The manager will need to be able to prioritize multiple competing time demands, load balance and prevent bottlenecks, and drive complex projects and tasks.


- The ability to continuously review and assess coverage-at both the individual and team level-in collaboration with Key Initiative Leaders to allocate resources as determined by client key initiatives and strategic investments.


What you will do :


- Inspire and drive collaborative strategic thinking to ensure the team delivers highly relevant, quality, thought-leading, and actionable research.


- Optimize resource management to maximize NCVI, retention, and Gartner's financial performance. Direct and oversee team's workload to meet Research & Advisory's growth objectives.


- Contribute to Research & Advisory's strategic objectives by optimizing resource to support Key Initiative Leaders in addressing key initiatives for target roles within structured agendas.


- Develop and execute on the product plan, including research topics, webinars, diagnostics and other deliverables.


- Direct, drive, and ensure on-time and high-quality fulfilment of each relevant research deliverable.


- Support PPR Content Leaders and KI Leaders to their roles to be responsible for content creation and direction.


- Manage performance, drive a high performance, collaborative culture, and oversee and manage remuneration.


- Hire, develop, and retain top talent. Be sensitive to cultural differences


- Ensure the team follows Gartner processes and policies.


- Provide candid and timely feedback to subordinates in on ongoing basis.


What you will need :


- Bachelor's degree in related field; Masters preferred - and/or 12+ years relevant qualifications and/or relevant experience


- Leadership : demonstrated ability to inspire a team to achieve great things. Ideally relevant experience leading a team of professionals.


- Execution : demonstrated ability to take concrete actions to inspire and execute.


- Schedule flexibility: Must be able to work a schedule that support colleagues and associates who are outside of region.


- Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity in order to process and understand information quickly, as well as diagnose issues to make actionable recommendations.


- Polished skills in communication, leadership, planning, motivation, coaching and cross-team collaboration


- Experience leading multi-cultural, distributed teams


- Credibility to represent Gartner research methodology and strategies effectively at a senior level


- Demonstrates high level of influence, negotiation, and facilitation skills


- Collaboration and consensus building skills with a large diverse group of clients


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English


- High intercultural awareness
