About this role:

Gartner's Technology Practice is currently seeking a Senior Quantitative Specialist for its Quantitative Insight team. The team leverages proprietary quantitative data and frameworks to offer original, actionable insights to key business problems facing senior IT executives across industries.

What you- ll do:

The Senior Quantitative Specialist is responsible for developing, supporting, and executing research that is fueled by intensive data collection, in depth research and quantitative analysis. The role has exposure to a full array of strategic data work.

I. Generate insights through effective quantitative analysis methods

1) Translate hypotheses into logical, efficiently constructed survey instrument to test assumptions

2) Manage large-scale data collection efforts through multi-national panels

3) Analyze large, complex, disparate data sets and identify actionable insights by conducting basic descriptive analysis as well as robust inferential analyses, including analysis of variance, factor analysis, and multiple and logistic regression

4) Present analytical insights to internal stakeholders; author client-facing research content

5) Build benchmark and other standardized client-facing data reports and graphics

6) Help internal stakeholders use proprietary data for additional new products and services

II. Uphold data quality standards in all deliverables through:

1) Creation and editing research deliverables to ensure proper and effective use of data findings

2) Best practice creation of survey and analytical graphics that result in high-quality fact base

3) Updating and maintaining data assets to ensure that researchers and analysts have easy access to accurate and timely data to support their work

4) Identifying external data sources that can be leveraged in research and advisory work and create methods to make them accessible

5) Collaborating with researchers and analysts to identify areas where data/quantitative analysis can play a role in strengthening Gartner's research

6) Active attendance at key research milestones to address data related issues

III. Partner with other teams within Gartner to deliver analyses for assigned research projects through:

1) Understanding and articulating practice-specific quant needs to quant COE leadership

2) Creation and management of the quantitative project plan to deliver within stated time frames and to the stated level of quality

3) Engagement with the practice and across quant teams to improve or address workflow issues

4) Quality check of outputs before sharing with research and advisory stakeholders and addressing any related risks or concerns as they are identified

5) Creation of leverageable outputs for sharing across Gartner's research and advisory community

What you- ll need:

- Masters or PhD in disciplines with a strong quantitative component, including Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Social Science, Psychology, Economics, Econometrics, Commerce or Political Science

- 3-5 years experience with expertise in data analysis, quant research, analytics or benchmarking

- Ability and desire to work extensively in data analysis and quantitative research

- Proficiency with statistical concepts, insights framing and authoring

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point

- Proficiency with analytical tools such as SPSS, STATA, Python and/or R

- Exceptional record of academic achievements

- Original/creative thinking and superior problem-solving abilities

- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team

- Detail-oriented and strong commitment to high-quality results to serve needs of clients and internal partners

- Self-motivated/self-starter approach to projects
