About this role

Gartner's HR research team aims to hire a Senior Principal for the Peer & Practitioner group in the India Research COE and is currently accepting applications. The selected incumbent will be part of the research team addressing cutting-edge issues facing today's HR Professionals at the world's leading, global organizations. This role will provide you with opportunities to delve deep into a topic, converse with clients, identify and creatively solve complex problems, design different research products to support clients in critical processes and help organizations transform the way they operate.

What you will do:

1. Product Design and Operations

Serve as product owner for the Manager Success Workshop Series:

- Manage product design, packaging, and pricing

- Manage curriculum of workshop offerings (planning on a one-year-forward time basis), including selecting workshop topics for new content and integrating existing workshops to run again

- Work with other team members to develop workshop content (including outlining teaching points, advising on slide builds, project-managing the content creation process)

- Oversee product operations (which includes working with a Specialist to maintain client inbox for product questions, send workshop follow-up materials to participants)

2. Deliverable Creation

- Build a deep understanding of HR Professionals- workflow to create actionable and insightful content

- Articulate underlying issues causing a problem (i.e., apply reasoning beyond surface-level observations) using analytical tools such as root cause analysis

- Conduct interviews with clients and subject matter experts (internal or external) in search of best practices, tools and artifacts

- Develop insights that are practical, actionable and grounded in the HR Professionals- workflow

- Effectively translate insights into compelling implementation products that are easy-to-use, intuitive, and can be easily integrated into the client workflow

- Drive product and process innovations to strengthen team ecosystem

- Present research findings via both written and verbal delivery to internal and external stakeholders

- Deliver on a regular calendar of research studies, white papers, tools, blogs, presentations and other client deliverables relating to the research produced

3. Team Coaching and Development

- Manage projects of direct reports, ensuring high productivity and delivery of quality research

- Create individual development plans and provide regular coaching and mentoring to team members

- Manage existing and build new relationships with stakeholders for direct reports

What you- ll need - 

- 6+ year experience at a leading consulting firm or a practitioner who has played a significant role in developing organization and functional strategy

- MBA (HR) or a Postgraduate Degree (in HR) from a recognized premier institute

- Original and creative thinking and superior problem-solving abilities

- Hands on experience in project management

- Experience in conducting primary and secondary research, benchmarking surveys, diagnostic studies

- Strong appetite to dive deep into a content terrain and distill key findings

- Demonstrated poise, maturity, and judgment in dealing with clients and stakeholders

- Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to precision of language

- Ability to organize information logically

- Self-starter, capable of taking initiative and managing own pieces of work

- Strong orientation towards meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects under time pressure

- Extensive knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Word and MS-PowerPoint

- Desire and ability to assume a leadership role in a collaborative, fast-paced multi-cultural environment

- High level of personal impact and capability to communicate with top management

- Should have experience leading short- and long-term projects

- Ability to manage the work of junior staff on project teams
