About this role:


Gartner is looking for a well-rounded Senior IT Program Manager who can provide project and program leadership for technology projects involving Gartner's Research business. The candidate will be responsible for program management of all initiatives needed to runs Gartner customer facing web sites, mobile applications, vendor integrations and back office applications. These include Gartner's main customer portal, Marketing sites, Mobile applications, Vendor applications and back office integrations. The candidate will be responsible for Program deliverables, Program schedule/budget, Relationship Management and Vendor Management. The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked closely with business partners, has played a key role in supporting a customer-facing website, has strong vendor management experience and has demonstrable experience managing relationships and expectations of the business. The candidate should have experience running projects in an Agile/Scrum environment.


What you'll do:


Management Skills:


- Direct multiple global technology-based projects and staff in support of Gartner's Research Business and STG.


- Lead a staff of 4-6 Project Managers and mentor the staff in Agile/SCRUM methodologies.


- Understand the strategic direction of the business to ensure that new features and functions are implemented to conform to stated strategies and business needs.


- Able to influence the scope and direction of initiatives across multiple levels of management and organizational boundaries


- Strong business acumen and leadership experience - proven track record of acting as a valued IT business partner to senior leadership.


- Ability to influence and manage the expectations of clients, team members, management and external groups


- Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root cause, create action plans, assess impact and develop resolution options


- Responsible for the development of strategic and tactical planning of technology and people resources necessary for successful completion of several large-scale projects.


- Responsible for the creation of long term strategies and approaches to control and manage projects in support of complex business requirements.


- Responsible for directing multiple sub-team project plans into a cohesive whole.


- Lead activities with support/service groups outside the project team to ensure successful project results


- Leverage personal expertise to develop and present rational conclusions, recommendations and direct implementation strategies/action plans


- Direct project activities personally and with other project managers, development staff to Estimate, Plan, Design, Build, Test, and Migrate solutions into production


- Develop and oversee implementation of Agile/SCRUM methodologies ensuring that accepted methodologies are followed


- Evaluate project and program performance periodically with key performance indicator and develop action plans to move KPI's to desired goals.


Operational Skills:


- Should be able to balance operational and development needs of Gartner primary web site and properties.


- Should be able to interact well with both internal associates and external clients in resolving operational issues.


- Develop processes to manage operational issues in a timely and efficient manner.


- Identify systemic operational issues and resolve them as well as identifying root causes and process improvements to present similar issues


What you- ll need:


- 4 year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience


- 12 to 15 years of experience working in an Agile Scrum environment


- Strong experience with the full software development lifecycle and software development methodologies (Agile)


- Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail


- Strong knowledge of programming documentation processes/procedures


- Strong ability to understand client expectations and to resolve issues that may affect delivery


- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix- d organization


- Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training with a strong aptitude for delivering quality products


- Preferred experience with Continuous Integration practices/tools and Open Source Frameworks.
