You will be part of the practice's quantitative analytics team addressing cutting-edge strategic issues facing today's senior-most functional executives at leading, global corporations. The role provides excellent exposure to the full range of technology topics and provides the opportunity to develop your understanding of technology and business concepts. This position is for experienced researchers interested in conducting data-driven research and quantitative analysis and reporting using Gartner's proprietary benchmarking and survey data. Quantitative team members enjoy exposure to the full array of data related work: data management and quality; benchmarking surveys; quantitative insight generation and exposure to advanced data management tools and techniques focused on peeling apart ideas in search of insight. What you will do You will lead a team of 3 to 5 quantitative analysts responsible for conducting surveys, analyzing data, generating quantitative insights and creating data-based reports for clients. You will help develop our research, including development of best practices and data based products and insights. The content you create will be aimed at serving the needs of CXO's and their teams operating globally. The role will involve quantitative research and developing insights and approaches to address key issues facing CXO's. - Manage large-scale data collection efforts through administration of multi-national panel or client-facing surveys targeted to CXOs, their teams, or their business partners - Own end-to-end creation, development and analysis of large, complex, disparate data sets to identify actionable insights for senior executives - Build standardized data reports that help clients understand internal gaps and allow them to benchmark themselves against their peers - Employ analytical tools, such as root cause analysis and basic statistical principles to validate data, conduct analysis, identify underlying drivers of clients- business problems and create hypotheses regarding solutions - Communicate and present analytical insights to internal stakeholders that include senior practice leaders, subject matter experts and advisors - Contribute to whitepapers and other content types highlighting quantitative insights - Train and develop a team of quantitative analysts - Help team dissect problems using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking and root-cause analysis - Coach junior team members to distill insights into high-level, strategic recommendations for the entire memberships of executives - Manage quality and productivity of the teams projects, triage requests as appropriate, and manage day-to-day operations of the central team - Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior team members related to all aspects of quantitative research including survey design, administration, member walkthroughs, and insight generation - Over time build and grow the team and provide growth opportunities and learning environment to the quantitative team Who you are: - MBA or a Postgraduate Degree from a recognized premier Institute in disciplines with a strong analytics component, including Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, Computer Science, Economics, Econometrics, Applied Microeconomics - At least 6 years of experience at a leading research or consulting firm - At least 18 months managerial experience with direct or indirect supervision responsibilities - Proficiency with statistical concepts like regression, statistical tests, factor analysis and cluster analysis - Familiarity with statistical software packages such as R, Stata, SAS, SPSS, etc. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point - Experience working with survey based data including management of surveys, benchmarking data and or panel surveys, conducting quantitative analysis, managing benchmarking surveys - Should have experience leading short term and long term projects and ability to manage the work of junior staff on project teams - Desire and ability to assume a leadership role in a collaborative, fast-paced multi-cultural environment - Passion for research, analysis and insight generation - Should have strong project management experience demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Ability to distill quantitative and qualitative data into important, relevant ''so what's'' for a CXO-level audience - Self-starter, capable of taking the initiative and managing own pieces of work - Strong ability and orientation towards meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects under time pressure - Original and creative thinking and superior problem solving abilities - People management skills - Managing teams in a matrix reporting environment - Good oral and written communication skills a must for this role What we offer: In addition to an outstanding work environment with rapid advancement potential, Gartner research team enjoys exceptional benefits, including: - Competitive base salary - Great on job learning - Inordinate work life balance About Gartner: Gartner, Inc.
