About this role:

- The Human Resources Practice (HR) at Gartner is seeking a BI Developer/Principal. The position involves the development and management of a large surveys and data reporting tools as well as the build out and maintenance of benchmarking and BI metrics.


- Project responsibilities include data aggregation and analysis, automated reporting, conducting descriptive and prescriptive data analysis, and development/enhancement of internal BI analyses. The individual will also be responsible to mentor juniors in the team.

Key Responsibilities of a Principal include but are not limited to:

- Assisting with large-scale data collection efforts through administration of multi-national panel surveys

- Build reports (using automated processes) to present member results and analysis based on research

- Own end-to-end creation, development and analysis of large, complex data sets to identify actionable insights

- Develop and maintain client self-service tools (Excel-based and web-based)

- Assist internal clients with new product development, including requirements and best practices definitions

- Partner with vendors and internal clients to develop and maintain applications

- Manage data (including quality and security)

- Develop and maintain key internal BI metrics.

- Communicating and presenting analytical insights to internal stakeholders

- Partnering with internal stakeholders to use proprietary data for additional new products and services

- Be a mentor to juniors in the team

Some of the shared characteristics of our successful hires include:

- Graduate/ Post Graduate with 5-7 years of total experience, with at least 4 years experience working in data analysis, quantitative research, analytics or benchmarking

- Self-motivated/self-starter approach to projects

- Strong project management and time management skills

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Quick and adaptive learners with original/creative thinking and superior problem solving abilities

- Experience with statistical packages, especially python and/or SPSS.

- Experience to other software tools and frameworks e.g. SQL, R.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Programming or advanced statistical skills a strong plus

- Exposure to technologies like Machine Learning, NLP (natural language processing) and Text Analytics a strong plus

- Knowledge of MS Power BI, Tableau Online, MicroStrategy or other data visualization tools a plus.

- Quick and adaptive learners with original/creative thinking and superior problem solving abilities

- Detail-oriented

- A background in a quantitative discipline such as IT/computer science, economics, accounting, statistics, or mathematics

- Ability to work either independently and in a team environment

- Work well with team members based in USA
