About the role: The objective of this role is to own and lead the editorial function at Gaana. The editorial team is at the heart of the Gaana application and powers all content curation using deep knowledge of music across genres and geographies, change in listening habits and with a highly data and analytics driven approach. - Layout the strategic roadmap for Gaana from a editorial perspective - Build manual and automated processes around programming and editorial decisions - Use analytics and data to inform decisions and identify content gaps - Understand and listen to music from a wide range of artists, languages, genres and identify new trends aligned to app users - Apply music knowledge to other types of product features such as short form or long form videos - Make and execute long term granular plan for editorial function to roll-out playlists, suggest automation wherever possible, leverage available content hence driving customer engagement and business results - Device creative projects for the team to drive product differentiation from an editorial content perspective - Work closely with the Product, Strategy, Content, Analytics and Marketing teams as well as other cross-functional teams, to progress towards various content objectives, across markets - Device and track performance indicators and feed them back into the editorial work Required skills and qualification: - Passionate for music and technology - Creative thinker and problem solver - Effective leader and collaborator - Ability to run scrums, manage projects and teams across multiple stakeholders - Experienced with project management tools, presentations and excel - Deep understanding of new age digital entertainment apps, including music and video. - Comfortable working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment - Ability to derive meaningful insights from data and dashboards and convert them into actionables for the team - Ability to travel if required to North and South India (in addition to West) - 10+ years of experience in above skills, preferably across startups
