About the role: - The objective of this role is to own and lead the content licensing team at Gaana and build a sustainable business model for the organization. The licensing team owns content acquisition with a business analytics view of the music, video and entertainment industry. - Structure and negotiate content development and acquisition deals with music companies, production companies and other content creators for both exclusive and non-exclusive content - Work closely with internal teams including Finance, Analytics, Strategy, Legal, Product, Content and Marketing to help advise on deal structures and progress towards various content objectives, across markets. - Reach out to industry stakeholders in a business development capacity, and achieve targets and objectives - Relationship management and account management of our content partners, primarily in the West and South regions and ensure smooth functioning - Use analytics and data to inform decisions and identify content gaps and focused search to close negotiations and deals - Create and execute processes on reviews, follow-up and processing of contracts and payments related to the licensing of content, in partnership with the legal and accounting teams of Gaana and content owners - Ensure all licensing and publishing relationships are well organized and in place at Gaana - Be up to date and analyze new trends and business models of the music and entertainment industry Required skills and qualification: - Strong experience in business development, structuring deals, licensing or legal with deep interest in new age digital entertainment apps, including music and video. - Creative thinker and problem solver with a business acumen. - Excellent in communication and negotiation skills - Effective leader and collaborator - Ability to run scrums, manage projects and teams across multiple stakeholders - Experienced with project management tools, presentations and excel. - Comfortable working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with evolving business models - Understand financial models and able to deliver presentations - Ability to derive meaningful insights from data and dashboards and convert them into actionable for the team - Adaptable and willing to adapt role as the business grows and needs change - Ability to travel if required to North and South India (in addition to West) - 10+ years of experience in above skills, preferably across startups
