Fund Manager - Fixed Income - Life Insurance (5-8 yrs)

Department: Investments
Key Focus areas:
- Management of ULIP fixed income funds with an aim to achieve outperformance over respective benchmarks
- Management of Traditional Life and Pension funds as per annual investment strategy
- Yield enhancement and interest rate risk management
- Credit, market, and macroeconomic understanding so as to take a view on rates and formulate an annual investment strategy
- Taking tactical duration calls to generate return and credit calls anticipating potential credit upgrades or spread compression/expansion
- Management of day-to-day liquidity requirements
- Annual review of state finances to draw up the investible universe
- Constant monitoring of and adherence to IRDA limits
- Cross team interactions (Actuarial, Risk, Finance, etc.) for efficient investment decision making, product pricing considerations and liquidity management
- Preparation of data/presentations for ALCO and Investment Committee meetings along with ULIP factsheets
- Engaging with market participants and intermediaries constantly and effectively to understand market positioning, outlook etc.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- CA/CFA/MBA with at least 5-7 years of experience in the bond market with any insurer/pension fund/mutual fund/treasury/primary dealer/merchant banker, etc. on the front office side
- Deep understanding of Macro and Monetary Economics dynamics
- Well versed with the functioning of the government, corporate bond, and money markets in India
- Ability to lead teams
- Strong analytical and negotiating skills to evaluate and close proposed investments
- Sound knowledge of accounting, credit and finance concepts
