Job Description: Manager - Policy (Rural)
Based at: Mumbai
Reporting to: VP - Policy & Risk (Rural)
Department Head: Chief Risk Officer
Key expectation:
- Product / policy experience in retail / rural market segment
- Secured lending exposure will be preferred
Performance Area :
Policy Documentation & analytical writing / training :
Assist :
- In drafting the policy documents / circulars / newsletter / risk communications
- Portfolio management activities - based on collection feedback
- Identify and act upon various risk arising out of credit/process activities
- Risk mitigation - bureau / rating agencies/collection reports to be reviewed
IT / Project / Training / Initiatives :
- Liaise with IT team / vendors for new IT enhancements & Implementation
- Conduct user level tests (UAT) and simulations for any data improvement & initiatives as required time to time
- Liaise with training team for policy and process changes & implementation
- Initiatives related to policy/process improvement from time to time
Policy and Portfolio management :
- Design, Develop & Publish MIS and dashboard as per the policy & process in accordance with ROC approved guidelines / acceptable risk & policy framework
- Interaction with business and allied teams to incorporate changes
- Track and react to external influence on portfolio- Bureau/rating agencies
Communication skills / Interpersonal skills :
- To possess excellent communication & writing skills
- To have a flair for change with bird's eye vision
- To possess rational approach and ability to handle situations pro-actively
Expertise required/ Domain Knowledge:
- Exposure to multiple geographies and location specific considerations.
- Extensive knowledge of Tier 4 and rural geography markets will be preferred.
- Ability to take wholesome view and deduce patterns arising out of various actions.
- Flair for numbers and an ability to understand processes
- Systematic & Meticulous and Ability to perform under pressure.

No. of years of relevant experience:
- 6+ years in financial services / banking / micro-banking, rural industry experience will be preferred focusing on credit approvals, delinquency, analysis, collections, processing, signing bank deals. Firsthand experience in policy formulation and tracking is desirable.
- Any specific specialization/education:
Minimum qualification is MBA with specialization in Finance, CA or equivalent qualifications
