Manager/Senior Manager - Digital Product Manager

What is the Digital Product Manager (Manager/Sr. Manager) group responsible for? :

Franklin Templeton is launching its proprietary Goals Based Wealth Management offering through a patent pending B2B2C digital product called the Goals Optimization Engine (GOE) via various distribution channels covering various global geographies. The product has been built with several years of underlying research involving Mathematical Finance and Behavioral Finance and we are on the look out for an exceptional Product Manager to join our existing team, can don various hats of job responsibilities and can take complete ownership of a distribution channel, few large clients or a specific product variant as it relates to the product lifecycle.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Digital Product Manager (Manager/Sr. Manager)

Product Management (40%) :

- Have a good understanding of the drivers for business as it relates to the Retail, Advisory, Retirement, Private Wealth, Insurance and Direct to Customer businesses.

- Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launches.

- Read and interpret Python code and understand the underlying mathematics and algorithm and communicate the same to an uninitiated audience.

- Understand a specific business requirement and evaluate whether the product in its current form can cater to the requirement or alternatively determine what needs to be changed in the product such that the requirement can be met.

- Translate this product solution to the product development team with minimal ambiguity.

- Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines and Manage releases across multiple stakeholders.

- Contribute to Product Research by understanding the pulse of the market and pitch new product ideas and strategies.

- Devise appropriate Go To Market plans for each channel and each geography that comes under the purview of this role.

- Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements

- Translate Technical integration documents and BRDs from various integration partners into User Stories and take ownership of product deployment.

- Ensure appropriate testing of each new or modified product feature and document acceptance criteria for each feature.

- Good understanding of the Agile Release Framework and work towards achieving those ends.

- Understanding of user experience (UX) and business/commercial challenges

- Define and measure Success matrix of product post launch and educate the business on the market dynamics, trends, and our competition.

Investments Optimization, Modeling, Suitability, Attribution, Products : (30%)

- Design the client construct (digital deployment and client scenario) in which the investment product is applicable

- For a given client construct in a digital mode, define the algorithmic advice that would determine investment allocation

- Act as the investments expert as it pertains to the Digital Product.

- Test and Signoff the investment advice results through all digital product variants.

- Define the what if scenarios & backtests that will test the robustness of the investment advice

- Interact with key clients (e.g. CIO and Research Gatekeepers) on issues like choice of asset classes, interaction between asset classes, impact of macroeconomic variables with the algorithm and the potential impact on client outcomes

- Enhancing the digital product by developing capabilities that are compatible with other investment methodologies

- Have a very good understanding of the global Funds/ETFs market (primarily US and Asia Pacific), Regulatory environments, Multi-Asset Solutions including Equities, Fixed Income and Alternatives.

Cross Functional Program Management (30%) :

- Work with CPMs, Model Management, Systematic, Manager Research, goals-based research to complete the fulfillment and customization of underlying investment models

- Drive the product and business-planning process across cross-functional teams.

- Work with Digital Wealth Technology and external platforms to enable the seamless & accurate flow of investment advice into partner/client systems

- Collaborate with legal, compliance, distribution, marketing and deployment teams for successful product launches and deployments.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful? :

Education (or equivalent experience) :

- MBA and Engineering from Tier 1 institutes

- CFA credentials highly preferred.

Experience Core Skills :

- 4-13+ years of Product Management experience in the above mentioned areas

- Wealth tech or related Fintech experience (Payments experience will not be considered)

- Exceptionally good mathematical skills.

- Exceptional Excel skills in mathematical modeling

- Structured Thinking - Can think clearly under lot of data and make definitive choices along with pros and cons

Experience Other Skills :

- Proven ability to take initiative and work under pressure in a changing/growing environment.

- Should be self-driven and be able to work in an unstructured environment. Exceptional decision-making skills: Ability to prioritize across needs given limited resources

- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on customer research, data, and industry trends

- Thrives in a startup like environment: loves dealing with fast pace and changing needs

- Ability to create partnerships both inside and outside of the Product organization

- Ability to narrate a story for problem along with the capacity to dive into minute details.

- Superlative communication and consensus building skills.
