Ford - Regional Sourcing Lead/Sourcing Specialist (4-16 yrs)

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Candidate must possess extensive knowledge of the transportation industry

- Experience with transportation activities including mode conversion, routing and carrier relationship management.

- Candidate must have knowledge of tools, processes and marketplace requirements and demonstrate excellent problem recognition and solving skills.

- Candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills and ability to work with Sales & Operation teams.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- High comfortability leading vendor facing pricing and contract negotiations with Fleets owners/ transporters & brokers.

- Outstanding negotiation and transportation pricing strategy skills.

- Conduct opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modeling and root cause analysis to develop sourcing recommendations.

- Knowledge of business ethics, Sourcing Requirements; strong sense of accountability and integrity.

- Knowledge of applicable transportation regulatory requirements, transportation contracts, contractual language, claims and insurance requirements.

- Determine the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation through competitive bidding with carriers and brokers

- Maintain current knowledge of transportation industry concepts and trends

- Identify strategic threats and opportunities arising from regulatory and operating issues that are developing in the industry

- Work with Operations, Sales to minimize freight cost and maximize delivery performance by establishing transporter network

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree, Transportation, or other Business-related field

- 5-10 years of transportation operations and carrier management.

- Working knowledge of Automotive, Engineering, Consumer Goods, Pharmaceuticals, Telecom, Commodities, and E-commerce along with cold chain transportation.

- Bring extensive industry knowledge and demonstrated ability to influence at the carrier leadership level.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels and departments both within and outside the company.

It'd be great if you also have:

- Advanced degree in Logistics or a related field

- Availability to travel 5-10% of the time

- Self-motivated work style; experience working well with minimal direct supervision or in a team environment; comfortable consulting with team members and management as needed

- Solid interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Experience working independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
