FlowWorks - Plant Operations Head - Secondary Steel/TMT Bars (15-25 yrs)

Role:
The Plant Operations Head is responsible for managing end-to-end operations of TMT bars manufacturing - from Scrap Processing to Rolling with the objectives of:
- Achieving target production sustainably to help achieve target dispatches
- Achieving top notch quality within targeted costs
- Achieving safety goals
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
- Professionalizing the culture (Data and Root-cause-analysis driven problem solving)
Key Activities:
1. Operational Excellence:
- Data and Root-cause-analysis driven problem solving
- Focus on improving safety along with productivity
- Ensure standardization of all critical and important processes
- Training and Engagement of the shopfloor team in improving all work areas
- Driving projects for improving performance of each section in line with organizational goals
- Reduction of variations in productivity and quality by improving process capability
2. Team building & Culture improvement:
- Form a strong core team of leaders in the organization
- Improve coordination and teamwork between sections with the objective of improving organizational performance
- Inculcate habits of scientific management within the organization
- Continuous training and development of managers, supervisors and workers
3. Process management:
- Daily monitoring of productivity and effectiveness of different sections within the organization
- Ensuring compliance to process parameters and standards designed for best quality and throughput
- Ensuring compliance to systems and processes in all manufacturing processes
4. Strategic Planning & Development Projects:
- Understand strategic goals and plans of organization
- Analyze plant layout, equipment and manufacturing capabilities against requirements to achieve strategic goals
- Plan and execute developmental projects
5. Planning, Budgeting & Control activities:
- Coordinate with Sales team for monthly, weekly, daily dispatch and production plans
- Prioritize and freeze capex plans along with management
- Define targets for top cost generating materials and spares; set up monitoring and review systems
- Monitor and plan for manpower availability and skills for smooth operations of the plant
