Job Title: Last Mile Design Lead

Job Purpose Statement:

Purpose

- Works with teams to create and deliver value at the lowest possible total cost

- Creates flow through assigned value stream via cross-functional collaboration

- Develops a problem-solving culture where problems are made visible and fixed at the root cause

- Engages in relentless pursuit of continuous improvement (seeks perfection)

- Focuses on immediate actions and waste reduction Process

- Works continuously at Gemba / the work site to understand and solve problems where they live, with the people who live with the problems every day

- Understands the As-Is & can think of suitable To-Be process. Not to be complacent with the current process

- Practices and teaches fundamental problem solving (PDCA) to find problems, define them, fix them and keep them from coming back

- Supports and leverages process for sharing best practices

- Focuses on improving the overall Capacity Planning function to ensure optimal last mile operations. Co- ordination with Planning and ground Operations

- Expansion of present volume through pin code addition and overall reach expansion

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Leads Capacity Planning, Expansion and Growth for the zone

2. Lead the team to focus on overall efficiency improvement at the Zone

a. Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of the business/operations together with knowledge of the business environment and process excellence concepts, methodologies and tools.

b. Act as a subject matter expert for the business/operations working with external bodies to influence decisions. Provide performance focused leadership

c. Develop product and customer specific operating plans to meet the market demands while having keen focus on customer requirements

d. Improve productivity through development of robust and effective operational best practices

e. Meet the Speed, Reliability, Customer Experience and Cost Goals

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE : 

1. Degree or professional qualification in engineering or quantitative discipline with specialization in Management. Good quantitative skills

2. High on People management skills

3. Good judgment and reasoning ability

4. Creative thinker with the ability to recognize improvement opportunities

5. Experience of developing innovative solutions to complex business challenges

6. Sound presentation and communication skills

7. Experience of developing and implementing measurement systems, processes and procedures for complex situations.

8. Experience of managing complex projects from initiation through to implementation.

9. In depth understanding of the structure and inter-dependencies of a complex and large organization
