Role - Design Head

Location - Bangalore

Job Description: 

Flipkart is seeking a highly effective candidate to identify, create, develop and integrate innovative network design and modeling solutions to deliver the best supply chain solutions. Successful candidates will bring a strong knowledge of end to end supply chain and network design ability to drive customer-focused solutions/roadmaps across the supply chain from concept through deployment.

This position owns the overall responsibility to;

- Develop and deploy optimization models to drive strategic and tactical decisions across Operations, Supply Chain Planning and Transportation

Short-term: Develop the toolkit for tactical optimizations like linehaul network. Develop the playbook to respond to unexpected events like strikes, weather disruptions, major capacity losses, etc.

Long-term: How do we transform the current network for better scale and efficiency? How do we plan for capacity expansions over the multi-year horizon?

New Opportunities: How do we evaluate network strategy for growth opportunities for new business categories and how will these impact our ability to deliver across the supply chain?

Engage technology, operations and other supply chain design functions for the transformation journey

Establish design strategies and to implement reliable, cost-efficient, flexible and in time fulfillment network design that scale growth and manage risks.

Basic Qualifications;

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields

- At least 5 years of business experience in areas relevant to supply chain optimization, such as operations research, supply chain management, logistics, or R&D with minimum 2 years experience in Network Optimization and Design

- Strong Data and Analytics capabilities - Well versed in end-to-end data and analytics: mining and extracting, cleansing and formatting, structuring and analyzing, and garnering information and insights. Ability to leverage large amounts of complex data sets to support business decisions by telling the story with data.

Preferred Qualifications;

- Experience delivering supply chain solutions in a very high growth environment where priorities shift fast

- Exhibits excellent business judgment

- Ability to communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong and talented team

- An innovative thinker who also has a strong customer and quality focus

- Has an entrepreneurial spirit

- Masters in Operations Research or Supply Chain or an advanced degree preferred
