Flatirons Solutions is looking for a specialist in instructional design and graphic design in our Chennai, India office. Are you passionate about building and driving employee awareness and engagement? Do you strive to enhance the competencies of employees?

The Learning Excellence Specialist will be part of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team and report to the Operational Excellence Manager. The OpEx team is responsible for driving effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance throughout our global organization. We don't tell teams what to do. We are here to help what teams do, better!

We are looking for someone that:

- Creates content and lead the implementation of the OpEx team communication strategy to facilitate awareness and engagement across Flatirons globally

- Creates interactive multimedia training applications and learning programs

- Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of the current programs

- Recommends and implements new curriculum development strategies and technologies

- Stays up to date on new trends and tools in employee development

- Identifies and assesses future learning and development needs through job analysis and career paths

- Translates the needs into learning and training requirements that will groom employees for the next step of their career path (skills, knowledge, competencies)

- Blends creativity with technological savvy to transform technical content into engaging learning experiences

What you will do all day:

- Work with the Process Excellence (PEX) and Compliance Excellence (CoEx) teams to identify the necessary training, awareness, and competency of employees to be effective, efficient, and compliant

- Provide technical leadership and use instructional design principles to support, design, develop, implement, deliver, and maintain interactive and innovative training materials

- Use graphic design experience to develop engaging training resources and awareness campaigns including instructional materials, aids, manuals, personas, mailers, posters, and other internal resources

- Identify, track, and optimize relevant key performance indicators (KPI) for each communication or training material, and the overall learning program. Create reports to gain business support and adapt strategy based on the results.

- Administer the content stored in the corporate Learning Management System (LMS)

- Troubleshoot courseware upgrades and conversion issues and course compatibility issues to the LMS

- Work with the Information Technology (IT) team as needed to troubleshoot course-related issues

- Extract key information from Subject Matter Experts (SME), tailor materials to the target audience, and improve upon the pre-existing courseware

- Proofreading and copy-editing of course materials with an emphasis on correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and writing clarity

- Editing tasks to seek out inconsistencies in style, locate errors of a factual nature, identify and query questionable statements or conclusions, and check cross references of information for accuracy

What you need to know (experience requirements):

- Any bachelor's degree with excellent and verbal communication skills. A degree in engineering or a diploma in instructional design from a reputed/recognized Institution will be an added advantage

- A total of 5 to 7 years of experience of which 4 years of experience in a related field creating training content, including e-learning and blended learning experience and 2 years of experience as a LMS course administrator or similar position

- Experience in use of e-learning software tools, such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Storyline, or similar

- Experience in use of graphic design tools, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar

- Experience in use of Descript or other computer-generated voice recording tools

- Experience in use of Audacity, Sound Forge, or equivalent audio editing tools

- Technical skills including understanding and troubleshooting SCORM

- Proficient with the features of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web-based applications.

What will set you apart:

- Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles

- Experience in interacting with subject matter experts (SME)

- Experience in delivering a successful onboarding experience for new hires

- Customer service skills, responsive attitude, and communication experience

- Knowledge of the aerospace industry is an added advantage

- Experience in designing training events or programs in a corporate setting, ideally related to software development, technical authoring, testing, QA/QC functions, etc.
