2. JOB PURPOSE:

Backdrop:

There are a web of regulations governing GM business in India. Further, there are also compliance requirements in terms of regulatory reporting which are onerous (there are 46 returns that required to filed at varying frequencies from daily to fortnightly to monthly.

Role:

- This role will be responsible for running the Financial Compliance of the Global Markets business of India. This will include regulatory reporting ensuring compliance with Group and RBI norms. This will require catering to the different accounting approaches under the Group's IFRS and local RBI norms. 

- Run and manage accounting controls. Assist in developing Product Programs for rolling out newer products in India in line with expansion plans of GM business in India. Support Murex roll out. 

- Review daily exposures, regulatory ratios, Profit and loss account, etc. Support MIS commentary by carrying out necessary due diligence and analysis of local business. Face auditors, inspectors and provide necessary audit back-ups and explanations.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Regulatory Reporting

- Prepare all regulatory reports as per requirements and ensure timely submission to relevant stakeholders

- Prepare regulatory returns in compliance with the respective country regulatory requirements

- Prepare required information for the Group reporting

- Prepare reports relating to Basel requirements and follow the processes in co-ordination with Group Finance and RMD

- Monitoring daily positions including LCR, NSFR with directional view basis business.

- GM Finance

- Monitoring daily Profit and loss account and providing the required analysis of product break-down as well as impact of market movements on the pnl.

- Run the business forecast, revenue flash reports and Planning exercise.

- Support Product Programs for newer products roll out as GM business expands further in India.

- Managing month end controls of P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation, substantiation and reporting for GM.

- Identify impacted packages for hedge monitoring and effectiveness testing.

- Support the roll out of Murex Software in India

- Control Environment

Account Ownership and Verification

- Work with the Group Financial Control to implement the AOV policy in the respective business / country. This must be implemented as per agreed timelines.

- Maintain and monitor the Financial Control plan for the completion of the monthly Account Ownership and Verification (AOV) exercise across all businesses and branches in the legal entity.

- Regular coordination with account owners and reconcilers in the business and branches in the legal entity to ensure that Account owners complete the monthly reconciliation activity in a timely manner. Escalate where deadlines are not met.

- Review the results of the AOV exercise. Specifically review the AOV control sheets, minutes of the Balance Sheet Review meetings and Items at Risk reports. Provide appropriate level of challenge.

- Collect and review the account ownership attestations from all account owners.

- Arrange and coordinate the Balance Sheet review meeting at a country level.

- Carry out Conformance Testing of balances.

- Consolidation and preparation of the monthly AOV Management report to be presented to the Country Senior Management.

- Prepare a log of all issues identified in the monthly AOV process and follow up with account owners for resolution

EUDA : 

- Establish a monitoring program over all EUDA's in use

- Review controls implemented around EUDA's and ensure that they are in line with the EUDA policy

- Ensure the quarterly EUDA certifications are sent to GF on a timely basis

GL Review : 

- Ensure full compliance with the Group GL maintenance and Manual Journals policy

- Carry out an annual review of all POS's and GL's in use in the business / legal entity with a view to determine unused GL's or POS's requiring closure / blocking

5. Job Context :

6. FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:

7. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- At least 10 years of Relevant experience in Banking

- Accounting degree will be an added advantage.

- Ability to communicate with a variety of divisions within the bank, respond to the dynamic nature of an international Global Markets operation whilst being able to meet daily deliverables.

- Technical knowledge in pricing and Accounting Financial products for Treasury, Fixed Income, Derivative and structured products
