Financial Software & Systems - Manager - Business Strategy & Planning - IIT/IIM/XLRI (3-8 yrs)

As the Manager Business Strategy &Planning, this role would be responsible for implementing business intelligence and business planning strategies for the organization to achieve business growth and development.

Role Purpose :

- Part of the Business Planning team providing advice and guidance about various pricing, financial, cost management and Business Intelligence strategies to aid the achievement of organizational growth and development goals.

- To analyze market/Industry data and provide strategic competitor analysis for Executive decision making.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Business Strategy : Understand the overall organizational vision and contribute to the Business Strategy through strategic insights

- Work with customers and partners on strategic opportunities/deals, remove sales blockers and directly contribute to sales results.

- Implement scorecard metrics and sales accountability systems to ensure the health and impact of the business; operationalize through a rhythm of business in partnership with the Business Group; manage, track and course correct revenue, pipeline, and other metrics on a world-wide basis; supply business insight and business levers that enable new business growth.

- Influence the future strategy and evolution of the new product working in close collaboration with Business Group, Engineering Group and Business Architect team to serve as the voice of the customer and field sales and partner community.

2. Strategic Planning :

- Establishes priorities for planning activities across all divisions, business units, and functions;

- Assesses current models of sales operations and develops appropriate new models;

- Ensures timely and appropriate input from a wide range of stakeholders and functions including finance, market research, business development and pricing to Business Planning process;

- Partner with cross functional teams on the creating the overall Business Planning strategic direction.

- Assist with the Strategic Planning Process

- Assist with the business commentary.

3. M&A :

- Participates in the preparation, planning and delivery of M&A technology programmes and technology due diligence. This includes setting scopes, generating information and data requests, creating and co-ordinating final deliverables, providing high quality and insightful advice to the Business

- Delivering and/or reviewing high quality, transaction reports and other M&A documentation including technology: due diligence, integration plans, separation plans and Transitional Service Agreements

- Drawing on knowledge and experience to provide high quality and deep insights and recommendations to the Business

- Develop an acquisition strategy

- Financing strategy for the acquisition

- Assessing transactions in terms of strategic fit in the business portfolio and identifying transactions to fill gap in existing portfolio.

- Identify potential acquisition targets and divestment opportunities

- Prepare on deal negotiations, deal valuation and pricing and preparation of deal documentation to facilitate decision making.

- Perform valuation analysis and M&A due diligence

- Participate and co-ordinate cross functional due diligence review activities

- Participate in meetings with Investment bankers and management of target companies and reporting recommendations to company's management.

- Ensuring closing processes and agreements are handled appropriately by working closely with various stakeholders involved.

- Closing and integration of the acquisition

4. Industry/Market Research :

- Identify industry trendsetters through market research, publication reviews, tracking competitors etc

- Analyze external competitiveness posed by competitors and provide strategic inputs to counter the same

5. Pricing and Financial Management :

- Creation of pricing models with emphasis on various parameters affecting revenue and profitability

Role Requirements :

Experience :

- Overall 3+ years of experience as part of the business strategy & planning function of a large Organization (IT/BFSI)

- Experience working in tier 1 consulting company (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, AT Kearney, etc.) or from a Banking based Multinational IT company background

Educational Qualification :

- B.Tech or equivalent degree from a tier 1 college (IITs) / MBA degree from top B Schools (IIM- s, XLRI)
