Job Description :

The role involves the front-to-back management of financial reporting (statutory) for the entity.

Responsibilities :

The role includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

- Become familiar with all statutory financial reporting/filing requirements for the IB.

- Become familiar with GAAP, and understand how the products transacted in IB, costs, balance sheet items such as Fixed Assets, DTAs, etc. are to be reflected in local financials

- Become familiar with front-to-back systems and support functions within IB's, using the knowledge to independently produce financial statements of the Company, which includes not only the balance sheet and P&L but also the accompanying notes, commentary, etc.

- Become thoroughly familiar with Posting Driver and provide guidance and confirmation of accounts/journal mapping from upstream trading and settlement systems to the GAAP general ledger (Posting Driver is the interface and journal creator for transaction data from different upstream systems to the general ledger)

- Prepare and provide financial information on an ad-hoc basis to support regulatory queries/inspections

Required Skills

- 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance within a bank branch or broker-dealer entity of a major global financial institution

- Experience in overseeing the production of publicly disclosed financial statements for a bank branch or broker-dealer entity of a major global financial institution

- Sufficient knowledge of the contents of financial statements such that regulatory queries related to financials can be understood

- Expert knowledge of financial products (derivatives, swaps, interest, bonds, credit, etc.) with an understanding of how such products are booked and reflected in the general ledger

- Ability and desire to become proficient in Japan GAAP and Posting Driver

- Good understanding of system linkages and data flows

- Strong computer skills (advanced excel and macro/access), Oracle/SAP experiences. Exposure to emerging technologies is desirable

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Japanese language skills would be a plus

- Self-motivated and independent having a control mindset

- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver as well as being able to adapt to changes

- Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
